Adam being the protagonist for a show about redeeming people who've been sent to Hell...just works so much better than what we got. Like, if you're going to utilize figures from the Bible, you might as well give them their full potential. The Adam we got could be fucking named Steve, and the character wouldn't have changed much. Granted, I would wanted someone other than Viv to write this hypothetical story because I'm pretty sure if she took a whack at it, we would have gotten another story that focused outside the main characters.

I think that has less to do with the positions of Adam or Charlie and more of sticking withe the original premise in the first place. Either character could work, but Viv fucked off with the premise when she decided "actually, heaven are the real bad guys" and therefore never bothered trying to get the sinners to actually repent for their sins in any meaningful way.

It was synthesized in 1926 but you're right that it would have had no street use until much later. It was just one of those thousands of chemicals that get synthesized and then sit on a shelf for years before anyone finds a use for them. Kind of like how Hofmann synthesized LSD in 1938 but it wasn't until 15 or so years later that he discovered its properties by accidentally dosing himself with it.

Octavia though? What, did she ask he dad to pay attention to her as he was neglecting her again for the self destructive sociopath? Did Stella and her uncle manipulate her by pointing to her dad and saying, ‘Look at the shit he’s pulling,’ and she rightly hates him for it? Fuck. They’re going to make her grovel for daddy’s forgiveness, aren’t they?

Part of me already knew that last part, but if I had a special baby-boy character, the least I would do is, I don’t know, not make him one of the worst characters on the show? Here, I thought Austruc’s hate boner towards Chloe was unreasonably stupid, at least in a narratively it might sorta make sense if you ignore most of the characters that get let off the hook, but this? This is literally Faggotry destroying the entire support structure a child has ever known, and the child being the villain for being upset about it. I think I understand what Frank Grimes went through at the end of Homer’s enemy, because this is driving me insane.

I want to believe this, but considering that the stream's apparently missing, I'm going to have to pull the "fake and gay" card on Viv and the crew outright saying they hate Octavia until it's found.

My family was friends with a young lady many years ago. She meets a nice guy and they get married. They had a beautiful wedding, buy a brand new house, and had two healthy little boys. They invited us to their house a few times, we invited them to ours and so on. I used to think they were a good couple, downright idyllic even. Then one day they separated. What happened? Well turns out the wife "discovered" she was a lesbian and ran off with another woman. The children, the eldest barely seven years old, were left sobbing asking their father where Mom was.

The worst part is, there are people that would read this and think the wife liberated herself.

I honestly can't say. It was completely out of the blue to be honest. I was much younger then and I tried to put the affair out of my mind as much as possible.

Granted she came from an Orthodox family, and my family and I are Orthodox as well, so I can see why she was reluctant to share her fantasies with us. Some might say she was oppressed. I say she was a fool. Willingly leaving your children without their mother there is downright barbaric.

Those kids have probably grown up by now. I hope they grew up right.
