Ron Paul was a nobody for most boomers. In fact, the older conservatives have been losing one election after another from 2008-2016. Trump wasn't that appealing to boomers and normies. Many normies voted for Clinton, and many boomers did so as well. The average boomer supports DA MESSAGE, they voted for Obama and Hillary, and will probably vote again for Kamala.

Trump back from the early 2000s was your average liberal. His book, ''The America We Deserve'', was pro-choice, pro-taxing the rich, and outright liberal in its messaging. That's the point. Most of the older boomer Republicans who aren't dyed-in-the-wool Evangelicals want a president who has that aristocratic energy in them. Guys like Bush II, Mitt Romney, and John McCain. Trump doesn't appeal to them. Trump appeals to modern, younger men who want to cut straight to the point and feel that they have been wronged by modern-day feminism.
Boomer conservatives are usually the ones whining about Trump not being ''presidential'', unless they're dyed-in-the-wool Evangelical/religious conservatives and they're just voting for him to piss off the godless SJWs. But the less rabid religious people and right-wing boomers want a president who has more of that aristocratic feel, or to borrow your own terms, an ''American Franco''. Hell, most of the conservative politicians who got burned out on Trump would probably prefer an American Franco to him. Including people like John Bolton, James Mattis, Mike Pence, and other former Trump advisors who now hate his guts.
The boomers who liked 2000-era Trump now hate 2020-era Trump. Fuck, they hated 2016-era Trump. They want the Trump who swings the same way as Hillary Clinton and who gave money to her, Ted Kennedy, and the other Democrats; they don't want the Trump now who's an Evangelical darling who wants to ban things like abortion and porn.
But...never-Trumpers really do exist. Even within Republican ranks. We literally have a word for people who are never-Trumpers; it's called Trump Derangement Syndrome, and yes, people on both sides of the political divide have caught it.
Some people said the same thing about Trump in 2016, they underestimated how hated his foes are. But today, more people hate Trump; they're not going to vote for Kamala because she speaks with the grace of an angel-they're going to vote for her because they fucking hate Trump, just like they voted for Biden in 2020.

The only boomers who vote for Trump are far-right Evangelical/religious boomers. Most boomers I've seen are very anti-Trump; conservative Boomers who aren't radicals hate Trump for not having that ''aristocratic'' feel that previous Republican presidential hopefuls had, and there are way more boomers on the Left than the Right. Hell, boomer college professors were the ones who indoctrinated the Millennial generation to become SJWs, which then led to the backlash that led to Trump's rise.

Objectively and verifiably false. I work in the office for a small HVAC contracting company that also does heating oil deliveries, so my experience with boomers is a bit biased. That said, there are very few liberals and a lot of boomers in the industry, and even the moderate boomers prefer Trump to Kamala (save the hispanics, who don’t talk about politics beyond cracking jokes about Trump- something that’s not inherently tied to politics, let’s be real).
Most boomers I've met don't like Trump unless they're far-right religious conservatives. The boomers I've met see Trump as a punk, as a failed businessman, while the younger people get, the more they're pro-Trump because he pisses off the right people. I've even seen young Hispanic men voice support for Trump because he seems more manly, more masculine, which is what they want in a leader, while their elders vote strictly Democrat because of the benefits.
They mostly prefer Trump or hate both sides. Especially young men who see things from a memetic perspective. SJWs piss them off, Trump pisses off SJWs, hence why they're voting for Trump, Unless they ARE the SJWs, mostly from the Millennial era, in which case they're Kamala's people.

People were mad at Trump for his reaction to Covid and that he didn't protect his base well enough(a legitimate criticism) Biden seemed(some fucking how) to be a more familiar and moderate choice. How that turned out aside(and depending on if you believe in any zombie votes or funny business) that's how that happened.
