Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Yeah, we're beyond the world of "hand drawn" and have been for a long time. It's 2D vs 3D. They can do really cool 2D using computers and have for a long time.

To just be a stickler for Disney and 2D with CGI. They first used it for the cogs in the clock tower scene from The Great Mouse Detective (1986). The Rescuers Downunder (1990) was their first film completely put together in the computer. Scanned cells, painted digitally, layers composited digitally etc.

If they were to do proper Star Wars animated, slightly heightened reality photo real CGI is the way to go. In the long before we had plenty of amazing Video Game CGI trailers as a proof of concept that worked.

We're stuck in an era where anything 3D, or 2D is art styled to look like absolute shit. The Pixar/Disney style of course doesn't work. Neither would Clone Wars, Ninja Turtles, Spiderverse or any of the endless to streaming art styled animated shit. It wouldn't need to be photo real, but it'd need to stand closer to the live action films than the children's stuff.

So I'm sure if Disney did, they'd do the low frame rate cell shaded 3D to pass as 2D like the fucking awful animation in the new Spiderman TV show from the latest Marvel TV trailer.

No, RLM was just articulating what the majority of critics and fans were already thinking and continue to think aside from the six year olds who just needed spinny lightsabers to get their jollies.
Translation: Plinkett is unoriginal, form over substance.

The RLM videos didn't gain traction because people are just naturally attuned to believing anything a weird serial killer character tells them like a brainwashing cult leader, they gained traction because they put into words what people already felt.
Translation: RLM fans are dumb, they can't articulate their thoughts and need someone to do it for them.

Agreed on both points.

Honestly I think the malicious retards behind LFL would rather just ensure the IP gets dismantled when they finally flop or are forced into making shit that is supposed to be good. It would then ripped apart into pieces like how Tolkien's work was done by the highest bidder. You'd then have to pay for the components to do anything proper.

I dunno, that's just how spiteful and idiotic I consider the creatures at the Rat and LFL are.

More fun topic, if they did adapt EU material for a 2D show or film, what's the most obscure story you'd want to see?
Droid World would be a good episode for a series
I had a soft spot for that as a kid, pretty sure I had an audiothing, a book, and a comic of it?
I def recall it was recycled into more than one thing

Oh yeah, that book was an adaption of one of the OG Marvel Star Wars stories. The Disney Canon actually brought back Kligson last year for their Dark Droids story arc.

Also Skeleton Crew doesn't look half bad

Dank Ferrick, the Skeleton Crew trailer just dropped!!!!!!!
LET'S GO!!!! This looks so 80s and FUN!!!!
#NeelNation!!!

You know it's science fiction when the black kid has a father.
I'm goign to be deadass honest:
now we know they are going to fuck it up. Despite being long long ago in a galaxy far far away they will inject some modern racial justice shit. So i know this will be utter fucking garbage but.

If you had competent writers who want to make an entertaining movie and not push an agenda, this could be a fun 2 hour Goonies-but-star-wars kids adventure movie. Trailer has all the right elements from the kid with the overly strict parents to the attention-seeking delinquent.
But my niggers a series? A good part of why Goonies is so well loved was the movie kept moving and there was no sequel because there was no need for one.f

They've already come out and said Skeleton Crew "stars kids, but isn't for children" which is just shooting yourself in the foot with the starting gun. I don't know about the rest of you, but adult shows that feature a mostly-children cast seem a little weird to me.

I get where you're coming from and I can agree somewhat, but the best children's media also had appeal to adults.

Shrek for example was marketed heavily towards children, but adults liked the film even more. I was an adolescent when it came out and over the years have appreciated it more as I understood the references and humor more and more.

Now do they have the writing skills to do this too? That remains to be seen.

I checked out Wookiepedia for any information regarding Skeleton Crew. The show takes place in 9 ABY, apparently when Ashoka takes place. Which means these kids will have to live through the nightmare of Disney's New Republic and the one year of the First Order controlling the galaxy!

The kids are Wim (black kid), KB (the one with Lobot-like cybernetics), Neel (the Ortolan, the Max Reebo species), and Fern (the white girl). Jude Law is a force sensitive, going under the name of Jod Na Nawood. I'm guessing an Order 66 survivor, former Jedi padawan who has been wandering the galaxy. The droid is SM-33, looks like a K-2SO with modifications. Probably the muscle of the group. The ship is called the Onyx Cinder and is connected to the Old Republic given that the kids probably found Republic credits on that ship.

I've seen some people saying that there are Tionese symbols in the trailer, suggesting that Xim the Despot might be a plot point. Disney is probably just using the symbol because it looks "Star Wars".

I hope that the show is just a simple adventure in the Star Wars galaxy. The kids don't find some sort Jedi artifact that is connected to High Republic or meets a character from Rebels. Just a basic adventure story.

You sweet summer child, this is Disney Star Wars™, there will be cameos and key jingling every five minutes. I'd bet 10 Imperial Credits (the only REAL money in Star Wars) that we'll get to hear this in an episode:

The shills that post #NeelNation on X would lose their minds if they get that faggy little blue elephant and baby Yoda in a scene. The pirate gang leader is also fucking Urkel. If he doesn't say, "Did I do that?" in an episode I will personally go to Lucasfilm HQ and kick Kathleen Kennedy in the cunt while wearing a MAGA hat.

Skeleton Crew doesn't look bad, it doesn't really look Star Wars though. The way the kids lines of dialogue are sliced in leads me to believe they will be bad actors and annoying. Back in the day you used to need to be a pilot to fly in Star Wars.

As lame as Anikin was in the battle for Naboo, they at least gave him some basic experience and R2 helped. Then in the sequels you actively go from plot points of a character can't fly. To a couple days later they are piloting ships. Kids role playing into stuff they can't do is always a bit cringe. My biggest take away is the fathers glasses aren't Star Wars.

That's just modern Hollyweird in general. The current batch of chimps they call writers are too lazy and stupid to be able to write enough to make a show. They essentially write enough that you could maybe make 3 - 4 hours worth of crap, and then panic and make shit up to cover for it. That's why so many recent shit shows made by Disney has done the "let's spam two flashback episodes from their POV since we were too fucking retarded to write enough for a show".

And there's no excuse. Even with a bigger batch of these brainlets due to the unions committing suicide, they can't bang out a TV show. They write a movie's worth of slop and then the directors, little smarter than the writers for this crap, shit themselves when they belatedly realize it.

And then the producers surprise pikachu when the garbage they pushed for sucks and they promised like two seasons worth to save face. They then ree when the retard trophy they chased so hard for slides out of their hands to something a bit less shit.

God I saw a trailer for Skeleton Crew today and I completely forgot that was coming out.

We can talk about identity politics and all that stuff all day long, but for me, the top aspect of Disney Star Wars that just killed the brand is the sheer glut of content they've released.

They've released so much content, that its impossible to watch it all, and certainly impossible for any of it to feel special and can't miss.

They made Star Wars mundane.

Jod Na Nawood
That fuckass stupid name alone should be an omen for the series.
Was ChatGTP broken the day they brainstormed for generic Star Wars names?
Trailer looks alright, but is there any audience for Goonies in Space? Star Wars probably killed all normie enthusiasm for their slop with the Acolyte, Skeleton Crew will flop hard.
