Yeah, this was a last minute thing.

They used the exact same mirror for a sketch a few weeks ago. It was a dumb sketch that made no sense, but in essence it was the same except it was two whores finishing each others sentences (oh wait).

A quick search on Youtube and they’ve done the mirror thing with Mick Jagger and Jimmy Fallon, too.

Despite my complete hatred for Kamala Harris, I can see how liberals might find this endearing. However, besides the “woah it’s Kamala,” the jokes were so stupid.

She also basically ended up the sketch saying that she NEEDS Pennsylvania and sounded genuinely worried. I’m not sure it’s a great idea to show that desperation on TV. It's so bizarre, because there is no real metric by which Kamala is even a "democratic" candidate. (Unless you count being *selected* by the *Democrat party* elites, i.e. literally the exact opposite of democratic.)

I'm not even gonna waste my breath explaining why the US is not and never has been a democracy, or even why it's a good thing that we aren't. I'm assuming most people here already know.

33% Republican (+9.3%!)
55% Democrat (-9.7%!)
10% Minor/other (-1.6%)

Democrats are outperforming mail-in returns thus far slightly (57% as opposed to 55%), but Republicans are directly on track (33% expected and returned). Also note that there aren't many mail-in ballots out there, 400kish, and it's around 2.6 million versus an expected vote of ~7 million-ish.

One last thing I forgot to sperg about. Before I fuck off:

For a rough ballpark, if you assume 100% in-line party voting, then you divide independent and third party voters evenly between the two major parties, if every mail-in ballot is returned in 2024, you would expect:

2020:
70.5% Democrat (1,847,100 votes)
29.5% Republican (772,900 votes)
Dems +1,074,200

2024:
61% Democrat (1,342,000 votes)
39% Republican (858,000 votes)
Dems: +484,000

That's approximately 600,000 pre-banked votes lost in this election versus last as a starting point. In a state you ended up winning by 80,000. We don't know what the total turnout will be, but I wouldn't feel great about Pennsylvania if I were a Democrat right now. Considering the enthusiasm gap, Republican distrust of mail-in ballots, and the election day voter deficit, the optimism is baffling to me.
