Covid provided a good excuse to keep campaigning to a minimum. Also, in 2020, Trump wasn't as popular as he was in 2016 and had a lot of sabotaging from the GOP old guard. Biden just had to tap into the Obama nostalgia and let the fortification do the work.

Biden certainly destroyed a lot of goodwill, no question. Biden's "return to normalcy" became Kamala's "We're Not Going Back".

Chuck Todd just brought up the Old White Woman theory, it's like he reads KF. The thinks the Selzer poll oversampled Democrats but importantly he thinks she was trying to make sure that older white voters which usually vote heavily were sampled harder in her sample basket in the survey, indicating that Harris's strongest demographic is older white women.

My mother votes Republican but she personally dislikes Trump (Haley voter...) and listens to NPR regularly, thinking "I would be very surprised if Trump won", when every semi-reliable poll I've read amounts to a roughly 50-50 split for either candidate. Even super-optimistic 60-40 polls isn't exactly "Harris victory basically guaranteed".

Anybody not voting because they believe Trump has such a great lead is missing the point. The point is imagine a world where Trump wins the popular vote, nothing in our lives will compare to a lefty reaction to that, if this opportunity is missed I'll be left wondering my entire life of what could have been.

I don't even really decorate for Christmas, but I think your idea is actually great and will follow suit as well if Trump wins, for the simple reason that Christmas = joy and I want it to be rubbed in the faces of the screeching histrionics as they're having their meltdowns that normal people are moving on and ready to be happy again.

I'm gonna deck my whole house out this time if Trump wins, and hopefully once I do the neighbors wives will start nagging them to put up their decorations too.

I think it would be a healing moment for our country if Trump wins, and normal happy people go about life and have a great holiday season while it becomes glaringly obvious how small the trueblue crowd really is when they're the only sourpusses this holiday.
