It hurts the worst with the people I’ve defended from similar. I know the campaign against me seems like nothing in comparison. There’s no accusations of grand conspiracy, I’m not being painted as a child molester or a drug fiend. I’m just being painted as an angry loser who picks fights with people, which seems trivial enough not to need a defense… and I’m not even asking for one. I’m fine with all of my friends publicly disassociating with me. I’m not asking for anyone to denounce anyone, take up arms against anyone, stand up for me and defend my good name. All I’m asking for is the people I really care about and want to keep safe to just let me know, as privately as they want to, that they still think I’m a good person. That I’d never do anything to hurt them, and they still trust me. Give me some way to stay up to date on what they’re going for, and give them some emotional support with their problems. If I need to set up some cover identity so they can just publicly burn me, fine, I’ll do it, but I can’t lose the only friends I’ve ever really had like this. I can’t keep living knowing that my very existence is being weaponized against people I want to keep safe.
