Prosecutors office will likely do a cost analysis, and there’s always a political element. “Is the juice worth the squeeze“. These aren’t exactly wealthy or sophisticated people, so a PD is very likely. It’d very likely be settled into a low level misdemeanor with a fine. But that will probably never happen, even if she dropped on herself.

Let’s acknowledge the reality - it’s not a case going on CV, it’s not noteworthy, he doesn’t have community ties with LE, she’s a slug and it’s just gross. No way will a DA want to invest in this. If he were 17 and a hot cheerleader it’d be different.

This juice is gross and nasty. No one is going to want their name on it, not unless someone in city hall makes it a priority.

In the famous of words Ed Wilkins, "Not right here ain't". In Michigan, at least, you can have contact with the person if you are the person applying for the restraining order. Obviously within reason, what Cobes is doing and NAL is doing both would exceed what would be considered acceptable. The reason this is allowed is that the courts understand that oftentimes the abused have troubles cutting ties and punishing the victim for their mental weakness due to said abuse just doesn't help.


That being said I have no clue how it works in VA or WY and have only had to get one in MI and that was this year

Nothing burger from the Virginia State Police saying there are no records on Jessica Boyle under FOIA, meaning she likely has never had a run in with them. One jurisdictions eliminated. HRH and myself currently have some requests pending at the Princess Anne County Sheriff's office and the Virginia Beach police department, particularly looking for recent body cams
