Yeah, I really don't get this thought process. Like, okay S1 was 8 episodes because Amazon didn't know if this shit would stick or not. So, Viv in her brilliant way of thinking decided to stuff all the material that was made for I think 10-12 episodes into 8. Hence why it feels like this rushed and disjointed mess. But fine, you've proven this show sells and makes cash. So...with S2...Viv instead of making MORE episodes for some reason goes "Nah fuck it, we clutched with 8, we can do it again."

From what was reported, it generated very large viewership numbers. Which is the thing any streaming services cares about the most and was clearly enough to get S2 and 3 rolling right away.

edit: Noticed at 19:06 that Sera lays an f-bomb. Probably the most justified f-bomb usage I've seen in the show. All that pressure and the amount of revelations she had to endure, even if it was ridiculous, I don't blame her for just letting one swear out. It had actual build-up to it unlike well, 98% of every other swears said in the show. Then again, just... what's the point of Heaven if even Seraphims are laying out swears now? Just... makes no sense.

I have a lot of choice words for this leaked episode but that particular scene was something I wanted to point out.

Oh, and around 19:45, Emily created some Heaven-versions of Sir Pentious' egg bois, which was pretty nice.

Also lol at the end at around 24:00. Security protocols. Why wasn't that the very thing you should've done since the beginning of Heaven? Making sure the ones who get in are legit and not posers or souls who may not be as good as previously thought? Not to mention it took for one guy that y'all assumed trespassed into Heaven into making that decision. You can't even border your realm right! What an incompetent Seraphim, good lord.

And of course, Sir Pentious babblin' in tears over some sinners he only knew for half a year.

Like damn anons wait for the whole thing to come out before claiming it sucks. I'm not saying what we've seen is perfect but we don't have enough context to judge various writing decisions yet.

Well given the leaks, including an entire episode, season's 1 writing, Helluva Boss's writing, and Viv's track record in general...you can't blame people for thinking it's going to suck.

Ehh, I think it's pretty justified when you think about it, Pentious during the flashback mentions he didn't have a social life while he was alive and it's pretty obvious he didn't have one during the century-and-a-half or so he's been in Hell either. If his Eggbois weren't alive he probably would have ended up doing a Wilson from Castaway with them. So it's little wonder why he's super fanaticaly attached to them.

I think the design for Alive Pentious works fine, if it was meant to be a flashback to him in his youth. He looks like a barely-mallgoth, greasy, kinda smelly nerd who becomes a cool goth by age 25. The design tracks, but it doesn't look like an adult man.

It doesn’t work for the Victorian Era, when he was alive. Men were supposed to be more well groomed back then.

If Pentious had his hair tied back it would make his design look a lot better as a period design. Not actuate but better.

I still gotta cringe at Alastors death. Frankly, I'm surprised how Vox never dug out this info and basically used it to destroy Als reputation. Like, sure hes a guy whos powered by Demon/Voodoo magic, but like if your rep is sunk nobody will take ya seriously.

I wonder, would it have worked more if the gave Alastor a sort of Joker treatment for backstory. Like, it’s kept vague and everyone shares or has heard a different version of who he was before he ended up in Hell or where he got this powers from. Cause, dishing out the TRUE version is rarely gonna live up.

Isn't this a magic-powers harry potter type show? I feel like fashion anachronism is pretty common in that genre. Maybe he's a napoleon-obsessed neckbeard, if you insist on expecting viv's intellect to maintain a historically accurate hard magic system universe.
