I pay $1,500 to rent a one-bedroom shithole in an apartment complex filled with meth heads and immigrants. I pay around 75$ to fill up my tank every week and, PG&E bills can run anywhere from 150$ in the winter to close to 400$ in the summer, regardless of how much power I save. The best part is that every time I get a raise, the minimum wage is also raised, and then inflation does its thing. As a result, it feels like I have made no progress in my career or building a life for myself with my man.

What you're missing out on is the feeling of having absolutely no hope of social mobility, and you feel robbed when it comes time to pay the bills, knowing other people in other states are paying the same prices for HOUSES. In some cases, even less. It almost feels like I'll never grow up, in a sense, because no matter how much I try to get 1 step ahead - the government, inflation and shitty legislation take me 10 steps back. I don't know wtf to do about getting out of the state because my livelihood and career are tethered to California.

I know California is a lost cause, but I voted Trump because I don't want the rest of the US to experience this bullshit, and I want things to get better. Idk, I'm scared guys. I just needed to vent for a second.

Things suck before they get better friend. Have some faith, and don’t get too absorbed with politics and the shitty bureaucracy. Wishing the best from a relatively irrelevant state.

A mix. I lurk a few lolcow discords, my dad has a big Facebook group, my brother includes me in a fantasy football group, and my gun club shares shit.
I do browse /pol/ so often, but it’s basically worthless.

Democratic Underground might be worth looking at if Trump keeps his current odds. They are unhinged. Like Reddit on HRT and expired anti-psychotics.

I'm using an octopus in a tank to predict the winner. Right now the octopus is holding onto the blue rock although it's been eyeing the red one for a while. I'll let you if anything changes. If octopus is wrong then I'm feeding him to my Vietnamese neighbor.

Same thing happened in 2022 where Florida was huge red but it was still a bad election for republicans. Florida really is just a Republican stronghold at this point and is not reflective of swing states anymore.

Majora's Mask is a really unique game in how the NPCs grew progressively anxious with each passing day, and how they voice their dread, denial and sometimes tidbits of their life when Link interacts with them. It really makes Termina feel more alive. Unlike Ocarina of Time which has been the blueprint of every soulslike, you don't see Majora's Mask mechanics much in indie or modern AAA games. It's a pity Nintendo will never make anything like that ever again.
