I've said it before - I like The Handmaid's Tale as a piece of dystopian fiction. It's well written, intriguing and while not up there with the two benchmarks of the genre in Nineteen Eighty-Four and Brave New World, it's a very worthy novel and one I would still suggest that people read. The TV show is absolute goyslop and I wish it had never been produced.

Personally, I also think the loss of the popular vote really threw a wrench in their plans. They were all prepped and ready for the fact that, even if Trump won, it wouldn’t be by the pop vote as well so they’d have their usual vector of attack. A lot of that was Latinos splitting the ticket. They voted for Trump but then they voted for the Latino for Senator.
