The Dems aren't rioting and they're not fighting this outcome.
I see all of you asking: why? Why won't they fight like they did before? Is this a calm before the storm? Do they have something else planned?
The answer is a little bit complicated, but first, think about what it's been like to be a dedicated Democrat for the last 20 years. Try to put yourself into the shoes of someone who really thinks they're the best party to be in control, with the best policies and ideas, and who has believed that nonstop for 20 years.
In 2004, if you were the 50th percentile Democrat, you probably believed in gay civil unions but not marriages. Trans people were a blip on your radar if that, and the most legal protection you thought they'd ask for is not to be fired for wearing a wig or experience housing discrimination. You probably didn't like misogynist song lyrics and thought music was getting kind of bad for kids these days. None of the open borders push had started, there wasn't a constant asylum seeker class of millions pushing in. You could happily say the US had come a long way on civil rights and racism. You could be against the forever wars and want Bush gone so we could have peace in the Middle East and stop involving ourselves in wars that only profited the profiteers.
Over the last 20 years, in order to keep a smile on your face and voting Dem, you've had to change position after position just to keep going. You have to be in favor of forever wars now, and open borders that used to be a far-right/libertarian "profit at all costs" idea are now a fundamental belief. You have to mouth all the right stuff about trans women in sports and how demisexuals deserve rights too and pretend you're happy dancing along with insanely misogynist rap that can't be aired without bleeping half the words. You can no longer admit America has made any progress on racial issues and have to talk about how white people are and have always been racists.
Do you think all those people are actually happy about having to change their mind about all those things? Fuck no, they are not. The vast majority of Democrats now have several "heretical" beliefs that would get them kicked out of Dem club. They have been choking down the newest NPC updates for ages but they secretly seethe about two or three issues and hate themselves for questioning a couple of others.
Donald Trump's popular vote victory shows them that they were not lost in the wilderness about these issues. They were never as popular as Dems tried to claim. The astroturf has become incredibly obvious and every person in the Democratic party who has been quietly pissed off about issue x or y is now, either privately or publicly, blaming the defeat on the other voters who are just like them and hate the same stances.
They have the knives out for each other this time. All of them realized their fragile coalition could not last forever, and that many people in their tent had major disagreements they were swallowing in order to fight "fascism." Many of them have been able to see reality on these issues for some time, and only said the "correct" Dem line about them to keep the peace. The peace has been broken. For the first time in over a decade, Democrats are being honest with one another about their own heresies and what they think other people are hiding from view.
They are not coming for DJT this time because they have realized they have an urgent need to clean house. All the squabbles are confined to inside the "house," where everyone disagrees about which rooms need to be cleaned up at all and how best to do it.
