Wow… the data I shad seen for the US had the number at roughly 1%.

I can’t speak for the US. All I know is I live in a city considered 1 of the 5 friendliest in Canada towards trannies but they still don’t fare that well here.

The few trannies I’ve known never stopped bitterly complaining about the lack of gender affirming care available here.

I live close to the epicenter of the lgbt village in the largest city… and it’s not exactly trans friendly. There’s more HSTS than AGPs in this area, and generally considered part of the community. Most are old school, have been trans for years or decades.

But when it comes to the new wave? There is no tolerance. The gays are pretty open with their disdain. The lesbians have moved their social events to word of mouth / invite only underground after Crews & Tango were inundated with AGPs. During pride I see many who still have the old rainbow flags, or who cut the trans pride triangles off. Most of my neighbours are LGB drop the T supporters.

When the transtrenders descend during pride month, the old school HSTS are openly disdainful.

It reminds me a bit of cottage country: during the tourist season you are welcomed with open arms to spend your money and support their businesses. But as soon as vacation season is over, GTFO because you don’t belong here. In June the village embraces the entire rainbow. The rest of the time they will let you know you aren’t welcome.

Or they will quietly seethe, then spend hours loudly venting on their balconies about pooners in the bathhouses or AGPs trying to grope the gold star lesbians.

EDUCATED Americans are seen as an asset but that doesn’t guarantee a faster routine in. We’re desperately short of skilled people in some fields but overloaded in others.

A big advantage Americans would have is that while our respective cultures are different, adapting is not as complicated as it would be for someone from a third world country.

As a country we’ve joined a small group of nations whose birth rate is way below replacement levels. So we massively increased the number of immigrants coming in but went too far, too fast and the federal govt. is definitely feeling the heat.

I doubt our government has an official stance on troon immigration applicants but I doubt they’re looked on favourably.

We don’t need the added demand on our already strained medical system and like in the US, people are fed up with the increasing demands and ever changing goal posts.

You want to troon out? Fill your boots but stay in your fucking lane. Don’t force your twisted agenda on me, my children or my grandchildren. I dread having to answer “those” questions from my grandkids should I be with them when they first see troons.

In Toronto people are advertising a shared room for $1k. Sometimes even a shared bed.

No shitting. You can rent one side of a double bed… if you’re really lucky there are 2 twin beds in the shared room.

Other options include: a bedroom divided into 2 rooms by using bookshelves to create a makeshift wall. A living room divided into 2 or 3 “rooms” using the bookshelf method. Or my favorite, a hallway with a curtain strung across it and a cot.

No one is going to be sharing those spaces with a trans refugee. Besides, there’s no space for the plush shark collection. It’s mostly the foreign students who only need a bed to sleep in while they’re spending every waking hour at school or working tim horton’s that occupy these spaces.

The trannies are taking up space in the tent cities in public parks.

My building is pretty good in screening tenants.
$2200-2300 plus electricity will get you a 1 bedroom. $1900+ for a bachelor. Older building so spacious, but no extra amenities like the condos that have gyms and stuff.

During the pandemic we were more than 30% vacant because of the amount of people fleeing the city, or international students not returning.

By early 2023 we were full. Wait list, and 80+ applications for every vacant unit.

Today there is some availability. It’s not quite as competitive as before, but still not super easy to get in. There’s about 20% of the units who are long term - here since the 80s, 90s or early 00s, and who are still paying $1200 or less for their 1 bedrooms. The lowest rent I know of is an elderly woman paying $850. She’s been here forever. Last year it was over 30% long term, but we have had several deaths or people moving into assisted living.

There are 2 units of students on my floor. One is a bachelor unit with young Asian girls. Pretty sure there are 4 of them in there. Except for their biweekly loud parties they’re fine. The other is a 1 bedroom with about 9 different Indians. A bit older than the Asian girls, but maybe early 30s at the most. Interestingly they’re coed - at least 2 couples. I see them coming and going in packs of anywhere from 4 to 10 people. I know some are just guests, but I have seen at least 16 or more different people coming and going. They have a lockbox on the doorknob so they don’t all have to have keys cut. And except for seeing them in the halls, I never hear a peep. Except during Diwali when they’re up dancing (or bouncing bowling balls?) from 2-8 am after getting home from parties.

In the last 6 months they’ve evicted a tranny hooker who was dealing drugs from the unit and allegedly charged with human trafficking. And another drug addict with mental health issues who was a nightmare. Both those people had their apartments rented by parents who basically applied for the unit pretending they were moving in, then just dumped their criminal kids here and disappeared.

That's quite an interesting statistic. Based off the 2021 UK census:

Between 0.25-0.5% seem to be trans (there was a big issue with ESL people not understanding the question).
The 2021 Canadian census seems to have it as 0.33%.
But the figure for the USA I see getting kicked around is 1.6%. Are there more trans people in America? Is it dodgy data gathering? Or are there just more monied interests looking at inflating the number?
