Orange County is the Last Coastal Holdout from when California was a Deep Red State the first time they went blue since 1940 was in 2016 and 2020 though in 2020 there was clearly some ballot printing going on since the highest turnout ever for both parties happened that year by around 400k and the turnout this year is line with every other past election.

I think a major demographic that would be big if Trump were to win with is Asian-Americans, too. Considering in 2016, only 35% of Latino men supported Trump, it is not insane to believe that the Republicans could reach some of these minority groups. For 2024, 39% of Asian-Americans voted for Trump. If the Democrats lose Asian-Americans, they will see a substantial loss in their advantage in California, as well as New York and New Jersey. My guess is that Asian American men, in particular, will likely swing right more and more as time goes on.

The biggest obstacle would be to de-fortify California.
