Fair enough on the first part, but that doesn't mean this thread needs to become a political blog for the three guys who have crippling aspergers who impulsively need to share their poltical views with an uninterested audience.
I mean, what else is there to say?
Danny-boy is a hypocrite who slams Alan Moore for being a godless leftist, while praising the shit out of Michael Moorcock, a man who is an even bigger leftist, a man who supports cancel culture and hates conservative fiction writers like Tolkien. This despite the fact that Danny-boy wants to posit himself as a good Christian boi nowadays. Even though he hasn't publicly named what denomination he's in or what he actually believes.
Danny-boy is kind of a tool for thinking that all RPGs should strictly adhere to the DnD formula and be like Daggerfall or Morrowind, and he hates JRPGs for stealing the thunder of proper, DnD-style WRPGs, but the reason why the JRPGs took off is because they're simpler and easier to get into, which led to an influx of new players that far surpassed the numbers that the 90s-era CRPGs brought in. In my personal opinion, casual RPGs can coexist with complex, stat-based DnD RPGs just fine; hell, I'm the kind of goon who enjoys Skyrim and KOTOR; one's a casual action game with minimal stats and a focus on exploration, the other is the traditional DnD RPG that relies on stat-building and strategy for the player to win. There's room for both, but Danny-boy insists there's only room for one, which is stupid.
Danny-boy is also kind of a moron for hating weeb culture and the influence of manga/anime, when said influence grew because American capeshit abandoned kids for the adult audience. No shit, that audience would grow big, especially since they're entertaining the kids that the capeshit genre left behind.
Danny-boy is inconsistent because he slams Andrej Sapkowksi's Witcher books for supposed plagiarism, yet he loves Daredevil, who is practically just a blind, red version of the Batman minus the infinite money glitch. And he doesn't give a damn about the fact that the capeshit market is one big pile of plagiarism (literally, Thanos exists because Marvel wanted to rip off DC's Darkseid, and DC's Doomsday is basically just a grey version of Marvel's Hulk made to kill Superman). So you'd think a comic aficionado like Danny-boy would be livid at all the plagiarism going on in the realm of capeshit. The fact that he isn't goes to show that all his bitching towards Jedi Outcast and the Witcher concerning plagiarism is selective and arbitrary.
Danny-boy whined like a bitch about the prevalence of FPS games like Call of Duty and the casualization of RPG series like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and Elder Scrolls, but at the same time, he praises the "westernization of gaming" that heralded the end of the JRPG dominance of the sixth console generation. What he forgot was the fact that said "westernization" of gaming led to those endless FPS games and casual RPGs that dominated the seventh console generation, because that's the kind of games that Xbox 360 gamers loved the most; casual RPG/adventure games, or FPS games. The very same "westernization" he praised brought about the kind of games he hates.
Danny-boy's education level is so bad, he thinks the Roman Senate actually stood for freedom in the Late Republic, when in reality, they were the oligarchs draining the blood of the state, leaving the soldiers who fought for Rome to starve while they ran large plantations full of slaves. In the same vein, he thinks that the South was just defending itself during the Civil War, when the South openly fired the first shot at Fort Sumter, and Lincoln would've compromised with them had they not resorted to violence.
If we bring the conversation back to Danny-boy, we'd just be spinning in circles, saying the same shit we said 200 pages ago. Because at the end of the day, the guy's not that interesting. He keeps making the same mistakes over and over again. As of late, he's celebrating Trump's win, but I highly doubt that he'd change. Not when he feels that his beliefs just got vindicated in the last election.
