Stephanie is possibly the best cook out of all the lolcows I'm aware of. Portion sizes are out there, and her food photography does her no favors, but she's out there following multi-step recipes and using actual ingredients (with occasional Cool Whip cookies).

i would like to argue that kelly lenza can be a good cook when she's not smoking weed and eating buckets of ice cream and fried chicken in bed. she doesn't post much about cooking these days though, because she's coming to terms with the fact that she hates being a mom and housewife. she probably forgoes cooking for her family these days

I used to hate green bean casserole until I made it with cream of ANYTHING other than mushroom (chicken, onion, celery, broccoli, etc.) and I found it was actually pretty tasty.

It's interesting how many foods we associate with sweetness that are just as good, if not better, when they're savory. For instance, oatmeal made with a little salt instead of sugar, some cheese melted into it before plating, and an egg or two (poached, soft boiled, or over easy) on top (add chives for bonus points)? Delightful.

We just eat them like you would normal potatoes in England. They make a nice mash, similar to what you'd do with turnip, bit of a sweet mash.
Never thought of putting sugar on them. I admire the American creativity with food, for special occasions anyway.

When I was a kid, I always wanted green bean casserole and sweet potato casserole (with the marshmallows!) because I saw it in movies or TV. My aunt, who is an amazing cook and always lead the Thanksgiving menu, told me those were too white trash, lol. Sometimes she makes these candied carrots, which are quire good but not as intense and sweet potato casserole. As an adult, I've tried green bean casserole and found it pretty meh. I've still never had the sweet potato one, though. I like sweet potatoes, but I imagine it as one of those things that are so sweet you get sick. Maybe I'll surprise my family this year and secretly make one...Oh, and there is also sweet potato pie? I just found that out recently, I guess it's a southern thing. All of these dishes are definitely once or twice a year treats, not a regular thing.

Throwing my hat into the ring to add that if you want a delightfully sweet-savory side for a meal, I highly recommend parsnips; slice them kind of like carrot sticks in size and thickness, brush them down with melted butter and a touch of honey, pop them in the oven. I won't lie and say it's not halfway to being dessert, but damn are they tasty. It's nice to do with carrots too, but something about parsnips just adds a nice nuttiness to it.

That naked Lolki art with the dick out doesn't look like AI. It looks bad in a very amateur deviantart-ish sort of way, whereas AI is usually well rendered until you notice it doesn't actually know how all the individually well-detailed parts go together. The shading on this is awful, so I'm assuming this is another Lolki wannabe-godfucker's work. I would love to see her get in a slapfigjt over posting (bad) art without credit.

It's pretty remarkable, the things that they can turn into sweets. Some years back I was at a party, one of those everyone-bring-a-dish things, and someone's American friend showed up with a pumpkin pie. Australian pies and American pies are very different to begin with, and on top of that, pumpkins are a common food but only as a savoury. This pumpkin pie was not only delicious, it was also a, "Wait, pumpkins can be dessert?" moment for the rest of us.

Compare and contrast to a South African acquaintance telling me that pumpkins as human food confused the hell out of him, because in his place of origin they were grown strictly for the stock.

I don't know what "fakeclaiming" is exactly, seems to mean "accusing someone of lying about having a condition", and she's leaving out the part where she had to doctor shop for a shrink who'd rubber-stamp the autism diagnosis after having previously been told, iirc, that she doesn't check enough of the boxes. She clearly has something serious enough to have needed extra help in school, but it's likely something other than autism (even though childhood diagnosis of ASD is less common in girls and some women don't even know until they're adults, those are the ones who went through school thinking they were just shy/socially awkward/nerdy but otherwise didn't do anything too out of the ordinary whereas Staph based on her own accounts was much worse than that).

That Loki artwork also has pubes that look like flames, which I doubt was intentional even considering what the Norse mythology fangirls like Staph find arousing. Lol firecrotch. And you gotta love how she's refuting the claims she's only into Loki because of the MCU, by plastering her profiles with redhead Loki as he's described in the actual myths as opposed to Tom Hiddleston in his dark wig. She lied about her religion on the application form I think, because she simply wanted to work with the kids, and either you had to be Christian to volunteer (I've seen job applications before where they ask if your religious beliefs are in line with the employer's, so not totally out of the question) or knowing her track record with Christians, may have simply assumed they'd flip the fuck out at the possibility of a pagan volunteering, not realising there are plenty of Christians who are fairly chill about other religions, not all are fundies. Never mind the other views that she's expressed specifically relating to kids... do NOT let a "pro-para" supporter around your children even if they claim to not be a pedo themselves.
