Too many things don't fit. The whole "it was all faked" comes off as red herring to distract people. As this was now 12 years ago people forget that in 2012 the automation of scrubbing someone's internet presence was not even 10% as good as it is today. They missed a secondary YouTube channel the guy had where he just recorded his philosophical waxing against a black screen. Audio only. It was eventually identified by autists and confirmed to be his voice (Deepfakes didn't exist back then). This punishment is considerably worse than what punishment would have come to Adam Lanza.

Think about it: that guy would have gotten the death penalty, and that would be getting off easy.

What they can do, though, is punish him excessively so maybe if he offed himself, well, he'd be the only one to blame. I mean, he couldn't live with his guilty conscience anymore, right?

I don't hate Rubio. I know that some do (and, I get it, the Gang of Eight shit was a massive mistake), but he hasn't done anything to piss me off since. Part of the reason why I don't hate him, though, is that his foreign policy stances are pretty solid (we're not going to see him calling to kill Putin like Lindsay Graham psychotically did 3 years ago, for instance).

And, yeah, the Florida senate seat is likely to go to a straight-up MAGA candidate now.


I'm sure this will entice him to run for POTUS again, and ... Why not? He'd be a more serious candidate than a Chris Christie and a Mike Pence, lol.

Don't get me wrong, Rubio will get crushed by the likes of JD Vance, but I don't think that will stop him from trying again.

And if he doesn't try again, then maybe he's ready to be retired from politics after this. Who knows.

It's a good idea to have more than one credible successor. You don't want to end up like the Democrats having put all their eggs in one basketcase because they are afraid of internal competition.
