It's a shame honestly. I actually saw the release of LISA The Painful all the way back in 2014 and it was so cool seeing how this game (soundtrack, sprites, and also the pretty unique 'Dial Up Attacks' system in RPGmaker) was made by one guy who seemed pretty cool at least back when I saw some (probably forgotten and lost media) interview vids around that time. Sometime after the release of The Joyful however, I think Austin got Fantano'd. Maybe some games journo called him out and then y'know the usual...God, dingaling...
This dude used to be boss. His game was great. Painful being a favorite, joyful not so much but still solid. This dude actually had a martial arts background, which you could tell in the game.
And then what happened? He became another cuck crying online. Handed LISA off to Serenity forge, who proceeded to fucking butcher it for parts. Putting the game on unity which introduced GAME BREAKING bugs that didn't exist in RPGmaker. Twice the price for a game that had absolutely nothing.
I think that is the most telling part of prog politics, when they do a whole reform of their personality. It would be one thing if they became a batshit individual, added a few hints of their new agenda here and there into their work.
But, fucking invariably, their work suffers. And Austin is just one of the horde. Bogleech, Hussie, all the others who just get hand rot when they pick up this philosophy that apparently makes them a better person and solves all their problems.
Had to overcompensate and course correct to the opposite extreme for making jokes that were totally normal back in the day. Seriously the only legit 'edgy' joke I could think that LISA had was the Black Ranger monkey sound effect and maybe the merchant NPC saying 'Oy Vey' after you kill him.
