Travis is only like the BEST CHARACTER IN THE ENTIRE SHOW.

All jokes aside, it's amazing how they ruin even the most minor of characters from the pilot. Travis was just some low crummy taxi driver in the pilot. Kind of ruined the whole part of Angel "selling out to the lowest commoner because he's that desperate for drugs" if Travis is a porn director that works for Val.

No way the claim of him helping in weapon's development with two Overlords is actually true, but it's worth noting that during the pilot days Baxter apparently helped Pentious create the Eggbois, judging by this it's most likely still canon and will probably be mentioned during S2.

I could kind of see it. I think she's going for a form of anthropomorphism I'm actually fond of in character design, where the design of a "monsterperson" is evocative of an animal rather than just being a mfer with rabbit ears or something. Though Viv definitely could've gone a little farther with the design.

If the Hazbin/Helluva happens, how will the power levels be explained? I'm assuming Overlords are not stronger than the Deadly Sins or the Ars Goetia. What happens if say the Vees push around Blitzo and Fizzarolli? Would they have to answer to Stolas and Asmondeus and be humbled?

I just noticed something now that you bring that up, nearly all of the major male Sinners we see are clearly based off animals in some way, but just about all of the female ones are pretty damn Human looking in comparison, yeah Niffty is apparently based off a cockroach or bugs in general but that's not apparent at all in her design, the only female Sinner I can think of that's clearly animalistic is that dinosaur Overlord that's in a single scene and maybe gets a single line.

Vaggie is based off a moth and Carmilla is based off a black swan. Those are the only ones that I know of that are based off animals besides Nifty (yet you wouldn't really know that unless you got outside information from live streams).

And the whole Mimzy being a chicken was because people were calling Viv antisemitic, and Viv pulled a half-assed explanation from why Mimzy has a hooked nose. Though I argue if you look at Mimzy and call her a Jewish stereotype, you're the real antisemite here.

I could write a preamble for a Playbill of my own and have it say "The animation world is severely lacking in straight white male's voices" and it would somehow hold more weight than anything Viv's said here.

That aside, I can at least understand where Viv is coming from when it comes to making something authentically "her." It's just that when the Hazbin pilot came out 5 years ago, I thought to myself, "Viv, I know you want to make something unapologetically 'you', but if this is what's going to define the next decade of animation, I dunno if 'you' are what the zeitgeist truly needs right now. If your show is a success, everyone's gonna innevitably want to imitate 'you', and eventually I'm gonna see 'you' everywhere. In comment sections, on social media, in nearly every major animated show, in profile pictures, video essays, memes, crossover fanart, possibly even in real life. People are gonna love and respect 'you' and what you made, but at the same time...

I shutter at the mere thought of 'you' taking over the world."
