It is so bizarre that 'edits'—functionally tracing—gain traction at all. A decade ago that was the original sin of online art, and now it's commonplace. I suppose it's acceptable to them if it's 'fixing' a character.

Why do they always lean into the bixnood caricature shit in these edits? Like yeah black people have lighter skin around the palms but it's a fucking gradual shading thing not just "ah yes the hand looks almost animal like" thing like they did here. Usually if something has flat-ish anime style shading they just completely omit the gradient from the bottom of the hand because realism isn't the intent and shading shit like this looks fucking weird and wrong.

It's bad enough they give every black character teddy bear paws, but I absolutely hate it when no matter WHAT angle the hand is at, they have to show the delineation somewhere. Between the fingers, on the side of the hand, wrapping around to damn near the top of the hand. WE GET IT, YOU'RE WOKE!

I actually never got the hate for edits. Professional color artists are a thing, i.e. people who don't draw comics, but color them instead. Same with digital art, movie backgrounds, hell even coloring in videogames is its' own subsection. Edits can certainly be done well, and be so well done that they effectively become an entirely new piece.

But that isn't what is above, that is, as you said, just a straight recolor.

Rate me autistic but this is kinda cute not gonna lie, aside from the stupid palms and the weird shapely body (the womans a damn cylinder for gods sakes she doesn't need curves!)

Whoever drew it has skills. The eyes are very toony giving Marge a bouncy fun look, the colors are pleasant to look at, and the overall flow of the piece has this energy to it

I think they are just yellow, I remember the reason for it being they wanted them to stand out when people were changing channels, so instead of the usual colours of cartoons, there would be a sudden amount of yellow, which would catch the eye faster than if they were the usual white/pinkish color.

That's the irl reason the Simpsons people are yellow, but in universe the "yellow" people are white. Characters that aren't white like Bumblebee Man, Dr. Hibbert, Apu, or Carl are brown/black like you'd expect them to be:

Yellow characters are Caucasian, or at least light-skinned (Asians come in yellow and a pale yellowish white, there's no standard.) They might acknowledge they're yellow sometimes, but in-universe Homer Simpson and his family are just white people.

The fucking spacing threw me off guard.

Saw this in response to another furry thing. Might check Kat’s page later to see if there’s more. Something about that “grimy” style always screams SJW to me.
