I was pleasantly surprised at how well produced the show was. It was actually funny, actually entertaining, and more importantly, it actually taught critical thinking skills and real science. I was blown away that this guy explaining how how electricity works was somehow the same guy in that cringy "Sex Junk" """science"""" video. It's shocking to see how far this guy has fallen.
It's much easier to understand or accept when you consider that Nye only has a bachelor's in mechanical engineering. Sure, it's obvious he's a smart, hard-working guy but he was never some revered expert on all things "I fucking love science."

But to be fair to him, woke is a virus that even the most highly-educated and objectively intelligent aren't immune to, and money talks. See: Neil deGrasse Tyson. I think he's also just a sellout. I'm not sure if he genuinely believes any of that "sex junk" bullshit he peddled.

As an aside, I was very impressed with his effort on Dancing With the Stars.

Every Republican gets rehabilitated when Next Republican starts running for President. I think the only exception was Nixon. Trump might end up being an exception, too.
Back when DeSantis was running, maybe even very early on before he officially announced, I saw an article actually giving Trump the Bush Jr. treatment. "You know, Trump wasn't THAT bad, but this DeSantis guy, he's literally Hitler!". Can't find it now, unfortunately.

Much like everything else is all media/political performative shit now.

Used to terrify the crap out of me as a youngster until I realized it's just meaningless speculation and nothing mote by s bunch of egg heads.

The fact it was moved because DRUMPF was elected the first time but didn't budge under Biden as the Ukrainian/Russian war escalated and them all mugging it up for the camera next to the apocalyptic prophecy device should tell everyone how bullshit it is.

It's sort of crazy how, in the 20th century, corny theatrics like that existed side-by-side with some of the most brutal wars ever fought.

. He was debating on some cable news channel, I can't remember who his opponent was but he opened by saying "Well, first of all he shouldn't be debating me, he should be debating me and the entire scientific community because there is broad and total consensus on this topic. There is no debate."

Bill Nye really popularized the idea that "science" is whatever the New York Times says it is, and the proper way to engage in discussions about natural phenomena is to be a smug, condescending asshole.

Also, it's an absolute fallacy that people won't work grunt jobs. There are plenty of people who enjoy working with their hands, being outside, being physically active instead of sitting at a desk in a cubicle with fluorescent lights shining down on them twelve hours a day. Farming is satisfying work, so is construction, road crew, janitorial and maid work, etc. The problem does come down to pay--if a person gets paid more to sit at home and do nothing compared to going out and working, why wouldn't you take the better pay even though it's dishonest? Delete the excess gibs, shrink the drug trade, change the elitist outlook on working class/blue collar jobs and guess what? American citizens will go to work again.

Growing up in a rural town, I did farm work when I was young. In the summers, I picked strawberries and did chicken farming during the off-season. It was not an easy job by any means. Later, I was a machine tender, warehouse worker, and mover.

I might have a university degree now, but that is only because I had an accident. So, I had to do something while I recovered. I am from a poor and working-class family. Most of my friends are still blue-collar workers, and I respect everyone. Whether you are a sewage worker, garbage man, McDonald's employee, or anything else, I respect all of it. Work is work, and you deserve decent pay for your efforts.

A lot of the jobs being done by immigrants and illegals are jobs people are too not willing to do for the pay that is offered. Are you willing to move to fuck nowhere rural town where you likely will still have to drive 1-2 hours to get to work for a seasonal job?

To be fair, a lot of that is on whoever set the target up. You should always be aware of what's beyond your target, especially when you consider you might come across someone who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.
You misunderstand, that was a warning shot. Trump is smart picking a guy who has such a killer instinct he can hit a man without any line of sight.

You know what sucks? Bill Nye the Science Guy, the original show, is actually really good. I've been babysitting my cousin, his mother has a list of approved shows he is allowed to watch, and Bill Nye is one of them. When my cousin asked to watch it, I braced myself for stupidity. After what I've seen of Bill Nye, I worried if he was going to make my cousin dumber or gender confused.

I'm not exaggerating when I say the old show is good. It's a crying shame that there are no modern day STEM shows like the old Bill Nye or The Magic School Bus.
Old School Bill Nye was fantastic. My siblings and I loved the show as kids, and I remember on "video tape days" at school, the teachers would play one or two episodes for the students.

He really has fallen hard. He used to be a very good entertainer for kids, and now he's just a paid shill for political agendas. He's a piece of shit now.

You mean like when he immediately fired most of the staff and the whole site very quickly became more functional? Yeah, I sure hope he doesn't manage to do that again.
Don't get me wrong, the takeover when Elon came in and fired the staff was great. How he runs it is well... shit.
Functional as it is now? Lol, lmao.

Yes they will obviously be paid more. Counterpoint to costs going up is the massive cost decrease of energy which affects every part of the supply chain which will drive costs down across multiple markets. The value of actual labor in this country has been massively devalued. People doing real labor should be paid commensurate wage, that is not the problem and it never has been the problem. None of this shit exists in a vacuum.

Paying some useless 45 year old 15 dollars to dunk fries tho is a problem.
Why is that a problem?

I don't understand this need for Americans to devalue service or "unskilled" jobs. This is an Elitist attitude towards someone doing a simple task that is weird to me.
If he shows up daily and does his job effectively and cleanly, then why should he not get a decent wage, not that 15 is even a lot?

If you do a job, you should get a decent reward for it.
