Sony hate thread

You think Shift Up's going rollback all the toned-downed stuff for the Steam release or no?
I think they won't because it would be an outright admission that they censored the PS version, which would be bad for business or something.
It'll be modded in almost instantaneously, of course, but officially, I don't think they're going to budge.

I've always fucking hated the "they're taking a loss on the console" excuse. NO FUCKING SHIT. ALL CONSOLE COMPANIES DO THIS. THEY'VE DONE IT SINCE 5TH GEN AND EARLIER.
Pretty sure Sony has stated they make a profit on PS5 unit sales instead of the usual losses. These retards refuse to acknowledge why consoles are suppose to be loss leaders. They need to drop the price now and get unit sales going because the Switch 2 is around the corner and whatever price cut they do later will get mocked when the Switch 2 plays all the same games.

We're so deep in the gen that console killer PC builds are about to make a comeback if there isn't a price drop soon.
Speaking of which, my friend has a budget right at the price of the PS5 Pro (1200 AUD) and i'm wondering what's the best price to performance he can get. (mainly for GPU, since we're pretty set on the other parts) Maybe a PS5 killer is needed.
Btw Shift UP is also opening a branch in Los Angeles next year. What could go wrong?
LA ruins everything.

Are they brain damaged? No seriously.
Most people buy consoles because at first they seem cheaper than PC, but you get roped in with paying for games that are more expensive.
Having to pay the same price, and not even getting exclusives seems like a slap in the face to anyone but extreme Sony fanboys.
I'm genuinely wondering if the next generation is gonna have both companies piss themselves (MS is kind of on abandon ship mode since Xbox is just about dead in the water) and Nintendo is going to have to compete with Valve.

Don't forget they're charging people for online play and they raised the price on that while raising the price of the games themselves. This whole gen has been Sony fags getting absolutely molested in the most blatant way possible. It's a miracle they've sold as many PS5s as they have.

I'd imagine that the fact that people who wanted to buy a PS4 are forced to buy a PS5 becuase Sony discontinued console manufacturing for the PS4 in an attempt to get people to buy the new one would be a factor.

Best move is to wait until January and see what AMD releases. RDNA4 is coming out Q1 next year and it's supposed be budget-focused so it's rumored to cap out at 600 USD and there'll probably be some 300-400 USD cards too.

If you're willing to buy used, pretty much everything 3080 and up is still worth using if you can get it for a good price.

Sony have made profit on the PS5 since 2021 and have put the price up once (twice in japan), they're making bank on the console, which is why they won't drop the price.

Now with the launch of the PS5PRO the PS5 price can't be dropped because a £350 PS5 outsells the £700 so badly that no-one would buy a pro.

Sony have retarded themselves into a corner and will be dead by Xmas 2025 with the Switch 2 and Xbox Handheld dropping next year.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has confirmed that Microsoft is working on handheld gaming prototypes, but claimed that any potential device is still years away.

They've been hinting for years that they're going to make a handheld and never do, but swapping to a handheld console would allow Microsoft to start the next gen while not starting the next gen and give them the ability to jettison the Series consoles without fully abandoning them.

Rumours from a year or so ago were that Microsoft would with with NVidia on their next console. That rumour could have been referring to a handheld, as Nvidia pretty much own the handheld market.

Microsoft's surface is a pretty snazzy tablet. Rumours from donkeys ago said that the next Xbox will be designed and made by the surface team.

I have no links for those rumours but they are/were floating around gaming sites a while back.

Hey, you can’t blame me for not knowing about a three minute old article :)

But that’s really interesting. A handheld Series S that’s even more user-friendly than a Steam Deck could have a lot of potential, and you’d basically have a portable 360 as well.

No blame here, brother.

Microsoft have always had a multitude of ways of dominating the industry, and they fail each time because they are allergic to success. That or the other departments don't want Xbox-and-the-technicolour-dreamcoat to outshine their brothers.

They have strong options with this handheld but have to be careful with Steam. If they see the Xbox Handheld as a competitor, Microsoft won't be able to make it a windows machine. If it is a windows machine, it will play steam games and PSN games (lol).

My thoughts are that it will be a streaming device to stream gamepass on, with very bare onboard power to maybe run emulators.
