But there were serious arguments over the business aspects of what had been agreed to. Also, when compound media was getting ready to shut down (and economically cripple Geno), Aaron was gleefully using his show to spread rumors and tell stories about it. As Geno was in a real bad spot at the time, he didn't appreciate that (to say the least).

Based on experience with a similar sort of church, those are the reasons its done. Any new pastor coming into an established church is going to involved alot of change no matter what and alot of people having differing opinions about that change. The new guy has to get himself established and establish his authority within the church.

The old pastors will sometimes start attending a different church in the role of an ordinary church-goer. But after enough time passes, often in churches like that the "old guy" will come in to cover services if the pastor is out of town or otherwise unavailable. Its like a reunion and they can maintain their relationship with the parish in that way if they want to. Some of them want to live a different life in retirement though. It of course depends on the person and the church.
