Happy 10 year anniversary OTGW. I remember watching you in middle school, hard to think of how much time has passed, but this little short CN put out really does hit all the right buttons.
Fuck, was it 10 years already? OTGW has a special place in my heart, because it rekindled my interest in western animation, which was dead to me at that time. A show that could be enjoyed by both adults and kids alike. and one of the few animations that, dare I say, could be considered a work of art - shame we didn't got animation like that ever since (at least i'm not aware of one).

I would say a better version of this choppy anime-esque animation already aired on Adult Swim. Ballmastrz 9009. The show had intentionally limited Animation so that the fluid action scenes would hit harder and look better.
It was also animated in Japan by a studio that specializes in mixing Japanese animation with western style slapstick, which was something they really gave Ballmastrs a visual edge

Cartoon Networks Magnum opus and the only cartoon I actually own on DVD

Invincible Fight Girl sticks to the same janky-ass pseudo anime style that refuses to admit everybody in the writing room is the most western motherfucker in the world.
This is pretty much all the shit you could tell from the trailers. Nothing really to say about it except Christ is it a soup of derivative.
"Derivative" is the perfect word. I'm so, so tired of western animation just going "hey remember being a Nineties Kid and watching 90s anime???" It's fun once in a while, but it's just become an unending stream of signaling to the audience that the showrunner watched anime as a kid. This shit reminds me of High Guardian Spice and all those other shows that are like "THIS IS JUST LIKE ANIME BUT BY US!!" and it's a hot sack of crap that takes the set dressing of anime and abandons anything that could make a functioning show.

Lol. Lmao even.

So, the guy isn’t even in office, and this shit is being thrown into the dumpster where it belongs. This election must have been a major wake up call to many companies, because damn, I wouldn’t have thought an episode like this would be pulled in a million years a few weeks ago.

I'm disappointed they didn't stick to their guns. It's just cowardly to put it in the show and then chicken out last minute.
You wanna make a statement be prepared for people to disagree with it.
They're only interested in "making a statement" when it's whatever the mob currently wants. Gutless whores.

It's almost like they expected something to go a certain way, got BLOWN THE FUCK OUT and then had to adjust to the new cultural standard.

Too bad I didn't share this a few days ago but noticed someone stuck this classic up, if only we went back to this...
I had the Nelvanamation VHS as a kid and this is was on it. I miss old school Canada animation. This is pretty much the same plot as Rock and Rule.
Pixar ripped off some of the plot to Romeo and Juliet 8 for Wall-e:

Disney Execs are the poster child of Rainbow capitalism, and maybe the worst offender.

Like I think all those "Disney's first gay character" thing is so much worse with how much they've done it.
