Apparently the transforming Hot Wheels had their own pilot episode. This should have become its own show; it's literally my ideal type of cartoon/anime aside from robots traveling through space like X-Bomber/Ideon. I guess this is the West's Daiteioh: something absolutely and indescribably cool and promising that should have, under all circumstances, been made, but never materialized and will never ever ever get made fully.

Wow, this was a shock to see! I remembered bits and pieces of this but forgot about it, thank you for reminding me! I don’t know what was up with Mattel and Hotwheels shows that have transforming cars. Acceleracers was supposed to introduce transforming cars in its second series of movies which were found in old toy catalogs and patents, and Battle Force 5’s whole show involves transforming battle cars.

Oh god this show is ugly. Like, not in the "REEEEEEE NIGGERS" sense, but in the "oh god why was animation this choppy approved for a show" sense. I saw the trailers and thought it would be like Wakfu and I could get used to it, but no this is ten times choppier and visibly lazier.

Choppiness could be due to it being a pilot. I didn't look at the trailers though.

I would say a better version of this choppy anime-esque animation already aired on Adult Swim. Ballmastrz 9009. The show had intentionally limited Animation so that the fluid action scenes would hit harder and look better.

Characters in Ballmastrz literally don't have walk cycles because they're all wearing roller skates. But the show has a very very distinct style, it doesn't always hit but when it does it looks better and more stylish than anything else Adult Swim has aired.

I'm really getting tired of shitty action shows just defaulting to anime style and not understanding anything about that medium. Like I refuse to watch the new Castlevania, or Vox Machina, because stylewise they look fucking identical.

Beats me. I Googled it because the usual torrent and streaming sites didn't have the pilot, since it aired irregularly (streamed on YouTube once months before official premiere).

Watched Invincible Fight Girl's premiere.
The pilot was barely changed, only a few animation tweaks. The second episode looked significantly better, but it still doesn't exactly look "good".

This is pretty much all the shit you could tell from the trailers. Nothing really to say about it except Christ is it a soup of derivative. Really I'm coming out of it curious about whether Proud Family and Boondocks had all its black characters played by black people.

In boondocks all the black characters were voiced by black people and all the white characters were voiced by white people, most of the actors even match the skin tone of their characters and also kiiinda look like them too.

The sole exceptions to this were wuncler III and Rin which I'm pretty sure is on purpose because both of them are supposed to be the extreme wiggers, the latter of which was also voiced by samuel jackson.

I don't know if it was on purpose or not, but Boondocks had astronomically good writing and voice acting so they clearly didn't sacrifice quality for it.

Man I miss The Boondocks, would wish for a season 4 and beyond, but the first three seasons are good enough and a good chunk of its commentary is pretty relevant still even if others definitely feel their age

The boondocks comparison is funny as hell, because the show isn't even about fighting, but it blows the show that's actually about fighting out of the water in, among other things, its own fight scenes.

Like, you'd expect an action show to have pretty smooth animation for its ACTION, but Invincible Fight Girl sticks to the same janky-ass pseudo anime style that refuses to admit everybody in the writing room is the most western motherfucker in the world.
Real bad fuckin time to love cartoons about fighting when the best you can currently get is some shit that would air on CN a decade or so ago then immediately get memoryholed.
