Forgot to write anything about Wild Robot. 8.5/10, cried twice. Does this movie reinvents the wheel when it comes ''non animal creature takes care of an animal trope''? No, but it's still one of the best animated movies that I've seen in a long time. The visuals and the audio are absoluetly stunning. The butterflies, whales swimming above the Golden Gate Bridge, lanscapes it's gorgeous. I had one friend who shits on this style so much, because ''OOOOH NOW ALL THE STUDIOS WILL MAKE MOVIES LOOKING LIKE THIS THEREFORE IT'S BAD'' Like bro, this is the coolest shit ever. Do you really want to be stuck in the Disney style for eternity? But overall I don't trust him when it comes to animation considering that he wants 2D movies to be more popular and yet he is shitting on the anime movies in cinema or overall doesn't give a fuck about new 2D movies like Mars Express.
When it comes to story, as I previously stated it's not something that you have never seen before, but the characters are and their relathionships are so good that it made me cry twice. The only thing that I didn't predict was one character not betraying Roz and I'm grateful for this decision. I hate this ''you lied to me/us'' trope. I've seen some comments on Letterboxd sorting from the lowest scores that this movie is ''pro-ai'' or something when it's more of a pro-enviromentalist movie. Yes, Roz is portrayed in a positive way, but all her actions are made, so the animals on the island can live peacefully and yet when she does something bad it's due to her not understanding the animals at the beginning.
