Would this dude even still have an audience if he started doing reviews and stuff again? I mean, it’s been like 8 years since his last one.

A very small one, probably under 10k views a video. It's been covered in this thread before, but the problems with his content in current day:Would this dude even still have an audience if he started doing reviews and stuff again? I mean, it’s been like 8 years since his last one.
To be fair, a livestream once a year isn't the same thing. He's doing "stuff" already, how many views it gets? 1000, tops?
It wasn’t sudden. His productivity was through the floor at that point, Scarlett was his anchor and she was gone. And he hit the goal without any work being done except for a vague plot outline. I think he was hoping it would fail, so he’d have an excuse to get depressed and implode. But other than that, what made him quit so suddenly? Was it really just the movie goal being hit?
He also did it for at least one of the Ultima games, and one of the Final Fantasy games(I think he got it from Bennett the Sage?). Probably a couple more, and in the case of final fantasy.. it's not because he couldn't beat the game due to a skill issue or something it's because he was fucking lazy and didn't want to play it as if he had better things to do sitting around in his house. Again... could have just streamed it and chatted with his audience while doing so but he couldn't even be fucked to do the basics that even DSP does.@p1138
Most of that is true. I actually was listening to his Pumpkinhead commentary vid where he credits the guy he got the footage from because he couldn't beat the game, but I didn't know he didn't get the footage himself otherwise.
I think there's some people out there who'd check him out again, myself included, but he'd need to apologise first for wasting so much of his fans' money and being such a prick, which is unlikely. I mean, he can't just drop a review video without explaining himself at the very least.
But other than that, what made him quit so suddenly? Was it really just the movie goal being hit?
Depends on the video at this point. If it was one of his regular videos I'd say no. He maybe able to get three videos out before people left as there are more people doing what he did on a more regular bases. He'd have to do something like a multipart retrospective on a series of some sort. However he's already done the more important ones to him.Would this dude even still have an audience if he started doing reviews and stuff again? I mean, it’s been like 8 years since his last one.
If he wasn't a lazy misery golem he could probably get a decent following making micro-reviews on apps like TikTok; short 30-60 second videos that give a QRD on games/movies/whatever.Would this dude even still have an audience if he started doing reviews and stuff again? I wanted to check his channel and discovered that if you search 'spoony' on YouTube it doesn't appear. In fact, none of his content appears except playlists made by other people and stuff he's cameo'd in. Even if you search 'noah antwiler' his channel comes up, but the first two results are documentaries about him (one being Fredrik Knudsen's). It seems SpoonyCoin is officially dead in 2024.He's doing "stuff" already, how many views it gets? 1000, tops?
I always assumed it was the same creative burnout that happens to most YouTubers. Even if your content maintains quality making the same type of videos for years and years has to get boring, especially if your content is based around performative negativity. But other than that, what made him quit so suddenly? Was it really just the movie goal being hit?
Maybe in 10 or 20 years Sam Hyde can do a special season of Fish Tank exclusively starring lobotomized stars of early YouTube. Pretty sure Fred would jump at the opportunity to get a paycheck if he hasn't died of AIDs by then. He's not going back, ever. Youtube is a young man's game and he's pushing retirement age while on the same med regiment as Chris Chan.
That would just get him posting on twitter 50 times a day ranting about anything and everything he doesn't agree with. Not getting anything productive done. The man couldn't manage to produce a video a month to keep his patreon bucks rolling in to keep his house from being foreclosed on. What makes you think he'd be able to get any work done in the safety of his brother's house without the possibility of being homeless looming over his head?Maybe if he got off whatever anti-psychotics he's on and drank heavy for a few weeks he'd have a tiny chance at doing something good again.
Seth also pays SWFA dues so I'd be careful with him. I stopped watching him years ago when he mentioned that.I have a soft spot for this retard. Every year like clockwork, I get an itch to listen to some of his counter monkey videos in the background while working on something or exercising. My favourites are the thieves world ones and his vtm larp jihad video, his autism and blind guardian intro just does it for me. I’ve been unable to find something that has the same feel to it, someone recommended Seth Skorkowsky but he’s far too sterile. If anyone has recs hook me up.
I agree, some of his old stuff is very comfy and I listen to them once or twice a year. His commentary videos on his reviews are good too.I have a soft spot for this retard. I'll dare to say Spoony was probably the best for a short time of them all, even over Doug. He had great potential, then something the fuck happened when he started growing his hair long. We all know how the women in his life really messed him up, but I also place a lot of blame on Jackson for being his bagman and yes man and shielding him from any criticism. It's hard to say there though if it was the chicken or the egg. Was Spoony so fragile that he needed Jackson, or did Jackson turn him into that fragile husk?I agree, some of his old stuff is very comfy and I listen to them once or twice a year. He had genuine talent, which was rare for a TGWTG contributor at the time, except maybe Todd in the Shadows. But he wasted it.
Considering his life before TGWTG, I'd say he was a fragile mess all along.I'll dare to say Spoony was probably the best for a short time of them all, even over Doug.
