Gun deaths and antizemetic mental health could become a public health emergency. i dont know the full scope of the director's powers but theres always a way for government departments to fuck with anything.
yeah, it COULD, but i don't think it will. You focus on the SSRIs and the role they play in mass shootings/school shootings and I reckon that could be a game changer.

I still can't believe how the stars aligned for Javier Milei and his presidency to coincide with Trump's. He's openly an avid supporter and fan of Trump. Something that immediately got him labeled as Argentina's Trump, Nazi, a gun obsessed maniac, etc; by both local and international media. I really think that if it weren't for Trump being elected now, he wouldn't be able to make deals or talk with the US due to the labels the media threw at him.

Funny tangent about Milei's campaign: The local media was just throwing shit at the wall with the hopes something would stick. To the point they tried to compare him and his plan to chainsaw the economy with the chainsaw devil (Pochita) from the manga Chainsawman. Probably as an out of touch attempt to appeal and relate to the youth. The comparison backfired since Milei took it in stride, memes were made and someone went to vote in a Chainsawman cosplay. If anything, it helped him win the young voters even more.

US politics aren't the only ones that have meme magic.
Lets be real, if something like this had happened to Trump, Barron would've gotten his dad to cosplay

So i saw the Logan Act trending cause of Elon meeting with the Iran's UN ambassador and saw our dear friend candee. Everyone's mad about it and calling it the logan act.

Right... but the richest man in the world (or even anyone in the top ten, really) would be one of the few non-government types of people that a foreign head of state or ambassador would make time to see. That and family or a childhood friend.

He is worth more than most nations. No shit they want to talk.

And he is part of the President-elect's team. So are we really gonna do the Michael Flynn stuff again? Because the only people that still buy that line of garbage are complete hackjobs.

Trump makes Bergum official with Secretary of the Interior and as Chairman of the new National Energy Council, which seems to be made to streamline all the involved departments into making it easier to drill baby drill and even look into nuclear power so we can beat the chynese.

I approve of Trump's picks so far.

He's assigning individuals positions according to their individual strengths.

For instance, would I be happy if he appointed RFK Jr. as head of the EPA? Hell no, I'd be furious. RFK Jr. is as lefty as they come when it comes to the environment. However, him being the head of the Department of Health & Human Services makes me so excited.

I know that Bergum was on the short list of VP possibilities, but I am so glad that Trump didn't choose him for that. Bergum's stances on drilling and his economic savvy are his biggest strengths, and so Trump is giving him the opportunity to operate with his biggest strengths.

The announcement text does not explicitly mention nuclear power, which is a big disappointment. I'm getting concerned that Trump himself has bought into the anti-nuclear propaganda, given the hesitancy he already expressed on the subject during the Joe Rogan interview.

If trump lives another 10-15 years, and picks a successor, id be fine with it.
I think Trump seems more likely to try to hand off to JD Vance than any of his family members. Most of Trump's family seems to not really want to be involved in politics, and JD is both already in as VP and (currently) a very good candidate for the next Republican Presidential nomination.

DRILL AND NUKE, DRILL AND NUKE

Drill and Nuke until we are energy independent!

You can't beat the AI race without nuclear power. He didn't need to make it explicit.

Always question your government, even when the people who you voted for and support are in charge. Always.
I'd argue that it's more important to hold your side to account than it is the other side. We know the other side is wrong, but when our side does something fuckign stupid it's more of a betrayal i guess.

yeah I'm not really up to speed on the exacts beyond "because electricity" but yeah, AI hype went balls-deep on atomics a little while back

Does it? To my understanding most European countries use a proportional system which accomplishes the opposite, basically mandating unstable & often short-lived government coalitions that are prone to imploding if you don't appease the (usually at least nominally quite divergent) interests of every constituent party constantly - unless of course all the establishment and 'left-opposition' (usually greens, woke socialists, lolberts and other flavors of neolib cuck puppet, I guess in American terms their closest equivalent would be 'independent' senators who functionally act as extensions of the Dems like Bernie Sanders & Angus King) parties all need to gang up to stop any actual opposition party from gaining ground, in which case that is exactly what they'll conveniently do even if the governing coalition has officially fallen apart (see the multipartisan push to ban AfD in Germany today).

Meanwhile the Japanese LDP was usually strong enough to just rule on its own for ages, Abe for example never needed a junior coalition partner to prop him up while he was PM. I wouldn't say even the non-PR countries are configured like that politically either, Britain for example has had pretty steady and consistent exchanges of power between Labour & the Tories (and before that, Tories/Liberals) with neither party overwhelmingly dominating for like four decades at a time.
The Japanese Diet is largely a continuation of the Imperial Diet and there’s still a strong culture of never wanting to be outside the majority party. So you end up with big tent governments. I think there was only one time the LDP wasn’t in power and it was short-lived, but the LDP isn’t very cohesive. There are factions and right now the moderate faction is in control and Abe’s more conservative faction is a bit weak, though likely gaining control again as people are finding the moderates to be ineffective.

How long do you expect a nuclear plant to be set up? It takes decades under the current system. Read it again. He said he's cutting red tape and regulations, which goes along exactly with what he said to Rogan; Nuclear has a overkill of regulation. What should take years takes decades, much of it paperwork and standards that are so high that they are nigh impossible to achieve with mortal hands. He gets rid of that, and the groundwork will be laid to have a nuclear revolution in a decade, which is fast in construction and building code terms.

I remember in one of his post election speeches Trump basically said Bobby wouldnt be going anywhere near fossil fuels, but he could go ham on health-related issues.
