@MirnaMinkoff's contributions here. She's done one hell of a job explaining the immigration process and her posts, coupled with the fact that we know Greta and Abhiram are lazy fucks, make a good case for there being something very wrong with whatever it is the Troon Team claimed they were doing to get childwife legal.
Just for starters: ICE would've seen
something in the system that indicated there was ongoing immigration proceedings once they were looking. Seeeing as Sathvik got thrown into a cell in Arizona and is still in said cell, it'd be fair to conclude that they didn't start doing diddly squat re. immigration/greencard.
At this point I think that Greta thought marrying Nina meant instant legality and she took it as seriously as she did her past marriage (as in not at all). She got a cold splash of water in the face from the I-130 application.
At best I think they tried to put in a sloppy late application and USCIS came back asking for proof of past marriage/divorces and financial records that demonstrated Greta met the requirements to sponsor Nina. At that point I think Greta made a lame post or two asking if anyone remembered where she got married (wtf?) and then shit her pants and did nothing. The application was then denied because they didn't submit the info requested in time and therefore Nina is totally illegal and out of status - even if she is validly married to Greta.
Or they never even got far enough into the process to even submit the application at all. They looked at how complex it is and how much documentation was required and got as far as e-begging money for some shots and then shit their pants and did nothing.
What really puts a smile on my face at this point is realizing the financial requirements of an 1-130 mean Greta under-reporting her TLL income for years could make her ineligible to sponsor Nina, or mean she will have to start being very honest on her income taxes. Also, Greta would have realized that sponsoring Nina for a greencard made her financially liable for Nina - even if they get divorced later. I think those two things made Greta decide shit pants and do nothing was in her best interest. (Probably told Nina we will just move to a sanctuary city and you'll be fine. LOL)
I think Greta decided she didn't want to
that committed to her child bride. (Whereas I'm sure Nina's main motivation for marrying Greta was a green card. I expect some relationship fireworks in the future. I can only imagine Nina REEEEEing "I told you so, this is your fault" at Greta in that van when ICE was upon them.)
The irony is if Greta doesn't want to legitimize her taxes/be responsible for Nina, Nina's only option is the defensive asylum claim which is super expensive, long and extremely hard to win. It will be very interesting to see which route Nina pursues to try and become legal. If Nina doesn't try to use the I-130 route then there is trouble in troon paradise and Greta is majorly fucking over Nina.
This ogre sure seems to have a lot of time to obsess about us instead of dealing with Nina's imminent deportation.
I think these troons have issues with setting priorities.
I find it hilarious that Greta thinking the photo was in "Cosmo" means it isn't grotesque. (If it even was published in Cosmo) Cosmo knows it readers like to gawk at horrific freak shows just like anyone else, photos of actual beautiful people get a bit boring so you spice it up with the opposite occasionally.
