They are specifically talking about testing the Mother Flame here.

Imu knew the weapon would work because it has been used before, they just didn't have a power source, they are discussing Sabo the page before that and Imu calls in and says he wants to test the Motherflame powered weapon on Lulusia. Looking at it again the "Nuke Lulusia" and the event don't seem to happen at the same time, but it's not a huge guess that Sabo is heading there..if it is the closest of the 8 nations that started to Rebel.

Like I don't think Oda would have Imu randomly choose to Destroy Lulusia and just have The 3 people on the planet he needs dead ASAP just show up there.

Touché, my man. But it doesn’t answer the million dollar question: is this Lulusia destroyer the weapon known as Uranus, or is it a totally different weapon and Imu thought the Mother Flame was a way to use it?

Also, you forgot the best part: after Peter asks why Lulusia was chosen, Imu just goes “it’s close by”, and then Gorosei go off trying to find a justification like there was some kind of missing panel that showed a tantrum, Something like:

“Close by? Really? If that’s the case, we can just-“

“Do not talk back to me! The Mother Flame shall be tested on Lulusia! Never question the authority of the great Imu ever again!”

(While I know I made Imu sound like Zim, I find it funny the Gorosei decided to do a Trinity test on some random forest, but Imu was adamant on Lulusia.)

I’d honestly really like it if it was just straight up random and the shot went off like slightly too late.

Because I am greatly entertained by the idea that fate just likes fucking with Imu.

Elders: Everyone we want to kill is just there
Imu: What luck!
Elders: We missed.
Imu: You had 16 shots, how do you miss?

Honestly, it’d make a lot of sense considering a lot of this stuff about fate and a censored history and how the world bill be changed by a certain person appointed by destiny, and that person is somebody is as simple minded and oblivious as Luffy, and you meet the guy and the dumbass is in fact as dense and aloof as he comes across.

Maybe Joy Boy was the same way considering Roger laughed at his funny story that culminated in the treasure he left behind.

Evidence is right now that it is Uranus.

However I kind of do think that it is possible that it is not.

Yeah I am kind of wondering if we see get to see the full sequence of events that occurred with Lulusia.

I don't think that Fate is going to play much of a role in the plot as a whole, unless it is going to be a really vague "some things are unavoidable, not because it is predestined but because you can't control the whims of those who seek Freedom and Adventure"

The entire story being predestined would go against Luffy's desire for Freedom, If anything I would be that it was Ace that was the destined Hero..and he directly defied fate by choosing to sacrifice himself to save Luffy's life.

I wouldn’t say “predestined”, I’d say it’s a case of certain things can’t be controlled as you said , and as said by Roger and Whitebeard, along with whatever cosmic machinations that could be at force are actively being fucked with by Luffy just being the idiot that he is.

The Gorosei see Luffy as an irritant because he’s basically disrupting the balance of the world, which Oda basically depicts as being an agent of chaos that causes the WG to bang their heads against the wall because he’s basically thwarted everything they’ve set out to do (try to kill Ace? Well now things have made it so the world knows the treasure does exist and the government at scared shitless about it being found and what comes afterward…all because Luffy tried to save his brother. Luffy’s devil fruit? Turns out the WG have been looking for it for centuries, and it’s named for a god from a time that’s censored because it represents a threat to power, even just the name of a kingdom?)

And Luffy has a new wanted poster that shows the form of that god?

Honestly, it makes me feel that Shanks is going after The One Piece now because of Luffy’s progress: he knows the ramifications of what the treasure is, what the title of Pirate King comes with, and that it ain’t all fun and games and freedom.

As a result, he’s setting himself up as the final boss/Luffy’s final obstacle not just to see how far Luffy has come since giving Luffy his hat, but to make sure that Luffy understands what happens after he achieves his goals, and that it probably won’t be sunshine and rainbows that a dense motherfucker can get through by just smiling and trusting the words of anyone, or whoever gives him food.

Shanks did say he’d challenge both Luffy and Buggy to the One Piece. And he declares he is making his move straight after we see that both Luffy and Buggy have become Yonko.
True, but for all we know, Shanks could have gone and made a play for the treasure whenever he wanted, even during the timeskip. Why’d he wait for Luffy to reach yonko status before he decided to throw his metaphorical hat into the chase?

RE : That stupid Tweet in @Random Internet Person 's post (it won't let me reply REEE)

That is one of the most out of context bullshit things I have ever seen.

LUFFY HAD TO BE TALKED INTO FREEING CROC.

He isn't a D. He needs someone carrying the Will of D.

Cause he promised both his friends he’d wait essentially.
True, but I’d argue he’d be perfectly skilled and able to claim the treasure if he didn’t wait. Sure he’d have to fight, but it’s a fight I’d think he could win. I may be thinking too much about this, but I gotta think there’s some bigger reason than “waiting for friends”.

The World Government's Standard Operating Procedure is to Silence people with extreme violence.

If they can not see the Parallels between what The Administrative State and The World Government does to speech that is on them for being actually retarded.

I can only apologize profusely to @Trombonista for what fans have done to this manga.

‘Trump is literal a celestial dragon’

Every single Goverment controlled media outlet was saying he was evil for getting rid of the people that they could treat like shit and force to do the jobs they didn’t want.

The entire Gov admitted to doing everything to get rid of him.

The entire media complex is screaming they need to set up a shadow goverment to stop him and he was stopped last time by a by a shadow cabal.

A Celestial Dragon he is not.

Twitter is gonna twitter, but holy shit.

The World Government is a literal Deep State that straight up lies about how it operates, censors information it finds to be problematic, allows rampant corruption in the ranks with bribery, allows terrorists to run free as long as they attack the correct people.

And it's literally called THE WORLD GOVERNMENT, its the very thing the left wants to force upon the world.

is this Lulusia destroyer the weapon known as Uranus, or is it a totally different weapon and Imu thought the Mother Flame was a way to use it?
i think it is mainly because i think the other two weapons exist as a way to fight back in the event that the whole planet floods due to overuse of uranus.

its possible that shanks was playing the waiting game the whole time knowing that if he just waited long enough sooner or later someone would make it to him and he could just defeat them to get everything he needed for the final island. that or he knows more than he lets on.

And so many countries are claimed to represent that WG. Along with being the subject of a photoshop of Luffy’s “shoot down that flag” panel.

I’m banking on “more than he lets on”. Except Oda is holding off on revealing what he does know because I guess it could be endgame material, or it really connects to Luffy in a major way. Probably both.
