Some of it is dark as fuck. Some of the Heresy Era stuff particularly, and fucked stuff like the Daemonculaba. Theres a lot of light hearted stuff too. Some of the earlier authors like Ian Watson had some really fucking weird stuff, there was less set in stone lore back then so they were free to really let their imagination run wild.
