If he hasn't then he's probably a prime target for it. He obviously has a professional person doing his social media and a few other things but it may just be that he finds it easier "to interact" via email and online communication instead of in-person and in an in-person setting he can easily be exploited.
It's also possible (but seems unlikely) that he has people IRL (family or friends) that look out for him or even help him with certain "adult life stuff", he is at least a part of some professional organizations. Given that he is probably actually diagnosed with autism and schizoaffective disorder, it would seem like he has had access to professional help and maybe even still gets professional help still that keeps him in-check with reality and out of bad situations.
Sadly, I do worry that people will try to exploit him or fuck around with him after the show has finished. I have a lot less sympathy for Alex who is blindly believing literally anything that people DM him on Instagram because Burt hasn't really been malicious (just gullible) and even though he is a freaky pervert when it comes to smelling people's socks I don't buy into the idea that he is willing or capable of harming anyone.
