He flat out did the "no it's the children who are wrong" shit rather than admit he had misjudged the state of the country. Apparently the big bad X was causing Americans to think the economy was bad and illegal immigration was causing problems, not the shit people outside of ivory towers were dealing with on a daily basis. He must be losing clout in academic circles given how much more active his media presence is getting. I remember earlier in the cycle someone questioned him about how he played fast and loose with whether his keys were supposed to predict popular vote or electoral college victory. He lost his shit and threatened to end the interview then and there. He lost all of his credibility because he couldn't contain his ego.
It's unfortunate because his 13 keys model is actually a smart way to look at who is favored by the fundamentals of the race when the information you feed into them is accurate.

I haven't been paying too terribly much attention to the various cabinet picks, but I'm not really sure what to make of them outside of the big ones. I've tuned into a few different creators talking about it, with a mix of views, and we are securely in the "two movies" land still, where some are saying that every pick is a RINO monster, while others are saying that they are all unproven loyalists (so, not RINOs?) with no political/job-specific merit, while others are saying they are mostly decent picks based on knowledge/merits.

Ana seems to have been organically moved more to the center because of who she interacts with online (I'd argue Actual Justice Warrior was a huge influence here) but Cenk is just sorta getting flakes of that from Ana as she sheds next to him on air. Well, right now things are in a state of limbo, the incumbents know they are on the way out and the next ones in line are just preparing so not much is happening. The MSM is probably just lining up their "Trump is literally separating children from their parents with a scimitar" kind of articles for when the deportation starts happening.
It's been funny to see the DNC assesing what went wrong. It's likely the most we're going to get for now.

I would wager that they said and aired it because they don't really see anything wrong with it. Japan, much like Israel, is a ethnostate with a very strong sense of self identity. They see jews leveraging their power and money to defend their homeland as a perfectly normal and valid thing to do, as the Japanese would do the exact same thing in their place. They even had some attempts at making a japanese equivalent of AIPAC for lobbying but nowhere near as powerful before they stumbled in the early 1990s. They likely have no context to why this would be controversial, why jews would possibly want to hide it or why the USA would have a problem with it since they are obviously accepting the money and going along with it.
