I imagine most SG fans are teenagers or very young adults and they took SG's message about "Everyone's fighting their own battles" at face value. I mean, yes everyone is dealing with their own shit, but it doesn't mean you can or should become friends with everyone, there's a lot of people that will dislike you over the most trivial shit (in this case, liking a visual novel made in 4chan) and there's nothing you can do about it, better to move on with you life.

It's like some SG fans have this weird need to show how non-homophobic/transphobic they are by trying to befriend Nanaki or GVH fans in general, i wonder how long it took them realize it was a lost cause, specially with Nanaki being such a deranged tranny.

I dont think its a lost cause, there are gay/trans people who gave SG a chance and enjoyed it, some even being GVH fans. But, these are well the exceptions and sadly not a more common thing

It's admirable that they wanna follow the core message, but at the same time Snoot is a fictional story with a happy ending where the best ending is very fairy tale-ish. It has values that can and should be applied to real life, but not everyone can get along even if you try to empathise with them. People will fucking hate you for the smallest things and it's very hard for them to detach themselves from those ideas, online it's harder to argue with individuals.

The fact that it took until Nanaki was revealed to be into cub for them to drop him is kinda crazy to me. If he wasn't into that, they'd continue to be fine with him openly shit talking Snoot fans and saying how horribly transphobic the devs and fanbase is. Like alright, try to reach out to him cuz you're not the only person in the world and he's dealing with his own shit, but he's such a public two faced snake that idk how they could be fine with someone who openly said the people trying to make peace with him are scum.

That said, it's quite telling that in the sequel, I Wani Hug That Gator, both ending 1 and ending 4 address that.

In ending 1, Inco has turned into a delusional soyboy who thinks that Mia Moretti has reformed and it's worth trying to be her friend.

In ending 4, Inco refuses to fall for Mia's attempts at manipulation, and even succeeds in convincing Ben to stand up to her for once, and Mia later gets exposed for abusing Ben at the winter formal.

Indeed, the good ending doesn't involve reconciling with Mia or trying to be her friend, it entails her being humiliated in front of the entire school.

While everyone is fighting their own battles, not everyone actually WINS those battles, and there's nothing you can do about it. Worse, some people are irredeemable, or at least refuse to redeem themselves until they hit rock bottom, and even then, it's not up to you to help them.

A bit late but a remake with updated art, voice acting and new scenes called "Snoot Game Encore" had a demo release. It's only like the first 2 chapters of Snoot Game for now.

Well, they added a new scene with Sage and Leo (a cut character from GVH) so I guess yes, they will change the story so those two characters can also be part of it. The original Sage sprite is from a mod called "Puppet Pals" btw

I wonder if Snoot Game led to Katawa Shoujo, another 4chan free visual novel, getting more exposure. I guess the two are too different in tone and setting, SG is more likely to be a gateway into furry fandom if anything.
Any word on what GVH devs are doing next? Does anybody actually care?

Gotta say, impressive update on some of the sprite models, specially Fang, Trish and Reed.
 
Nasser (sp?) is still too thin for his description, and Anon isn't thing enough. Eh, there's a brand now, I guess.

I do like it, but I think all the female voice acting apart from Sage kind of miss the mark a bit with Naomi being the worst of the bunch. I'm also not entirely onboard with Fang's design either, her lacking significant cleavage kind of works for her character and body type.

None of them are bad, but I feel like there is a noticable difference between the quality of the VA work between the male (with the Anons being the bests) and females. Naomi especially I had issue with because she sounds like a English anime dub.
 
Naomi sounding like nails on a chalkboard is just on point (although I feel like the VA is shouting her lines too much)
Fang and Trish's voices sound flat. I'd swap Sage and Trish's voices, and get Fang's VA a new mic.
