It's almost like this race isn't a part of the equation. Many fans of comics simply want something independent, perhaps without DEI being shoved in their faces. It just so happens that a Black voluntarist Christian family man is the only one who knows how to do a business. He built up lots of good will by delivering on his promises. The art might be mediocre and the plot might be boring, but at least I can hold both copies in my hands. $20 or $30 is not a lot of money to most people, a good portion of whom are more than happy to support a project because it will improve in the future. Didn't many Japanese comic artists start out by drawing gross porn parody shit of popular cartoons? At least ISOM 0 isn't a gooner parody of Snow White where the 7 dwarves were replaced by 6'5'' niggers.

My only criticism remains the same. It seems like they're expanding quickly but diversifying too much. Having not just comics but films and even a fulfillment service with merchandise might water down the products fans really care about. I guess this isn't really criticism, but a warning instead. They do need to stay focused on the one thing that gave them success.

Isom 2 was better than Isom 1 and A LOT of people are excited for the upcoming Isom 3, and the story and art qualities are a matter of opinion. For his first book, he actually did pretty good. And Cliff Richards has been drawing for a long time and nobody thought the art was mediocre when he did it before. Honestly not everybody is going to be Alex Ross in art style, or Mark Mallar in writing. Mark Millar actually gave both Isom's a good review believe it or not, and at this point calling them mediocre has lost its effect, because it's been weaponized too much. Hell people even tried doing it to Doug Ernst with Iconic in the beginning saying the same things, and THAT didn't work either. Just because one person doesn't like it as much as some people, doesn't mean another person won't like it more. That's the beauty of independent thought you can like whatever you like, and so can I. Comicsgate however has almost nothing in there that interests me, and I have a feeling I'm not the only one that thinks that. The drama they astroturfed out of nowhere doesn't help them either.
