That is utter insanity because they do have a out: stop now before THEY get nuked.
They won't get nuked since they told the US about it (I can't archive right now) as long as these lines of communication remain open no one is getting nuked.

Interesting tic-for-tac response to the US giving permission for the use of ATACMS in Kursk (and only there for now).

A good question would be: how is Trump's incoming administration going to reply to this? Could this encourage Trump to have the Slavs sign a peace deal?

And my other question would be, how fast can the Russians build these new missiles? Since the whole Russia is running out of missiles and drones has been proven to be bullshit. I guess you can say the same about the whole shtick of their missiles forces being nothing but rusty and obsolete weapons.

Not from that strike, no. It depends on how far they push it frankly.

I imagine a peace deal would be the first thing Trump tries, the situation is fucking hot right now.

The system is new. It's why in part the US pulled out of the INF treaty- they built this. Presumably they don't have much.

If LP joined he'd want to send nukes over, along with the Avengers and Luke Skywalker
Of course he'd do that but never have the practical knowledge like which way the belt-feed of a PKM goes towards. Then again, his audience only seeks the most bottom-feeding advice on who to root for, ideally in a matter that doesn't embarass them a year or so forward.

His audience is reddit and gay men. He'd use the PKM as a dildo for a video before he gave practical advice or a solid take. I wonder what his cope is going to be on recent developments tbh. It's going to be loony.

Something something DRUMPF betrayed the honorable men on the ground rather than recognize that the situation on the frontline was already a clownshow.

Trump legally is just a citizen as of now. A
Former president for a title. He will be president come January, but until then, he can't do anything. He has no armies, no diplomats, nothing really to reach out politically outside the US until he is president.

Actually surprisingly quiet on the 'Trump is a Russian asset' front this go around, considering the state of American-Russia relationship are a bit worse than 2016.

Putin literally said he wanted Kamala, so I mean...
When did that ever stop them? Putin is an Evil Wizard so his words are lies. (Though in seriousness he obviously preferred the candidate he could predict what they'll do). Just the opinion piece, now especially with DPRK in the mix, of 'Trump's coddling of dictators led to..' is right there. Why won't they take it? They didn't develop shame.

Ah yes, blame Ukraine on DRUMPH because he said nice things about Putin as president (while sanctioning the fuck out of him) and he met up with Kim (while sanctioning him). I mean they should, the article would be hilarious toilet paper, and Piggy would probably base a video off of it and how DRUMPH is Hitler or something.

I remember people saying Russia was running out of bullet and missles a few months into the war and I remember people speculating convetional armed ICBMs would be used so Russia had something to fire at Ukraine. If they did so we would know the war is nearly over for a total victory for Ukraine. So cheer up everyone US and Ukraine victory is right around the corner!

Both guaranteed ways to be court martialed.
unless LP sucks the judge's dick too
They did, but so far, the Israelis and the Soviets managed to make the gun-fired ATGM work as a way of extending the range and lifespan of old tanks. Then again, the Sheridan and the M60A2 were silly designs that didn't really work.
the pereh was neat, but it didnt really fire missiles out of the main barrel (too narrow for any half-decent ATGMs), it was just so it'd look like an ordinary M60 tank until it exposes the 12 missile tubes
I'd take the M1 Carbine over the STG any day of the week, it's way smaller and way lighter.
RIP your thumb
It would require a good deal of reworking to lighten it to something usable for a riflemen, the budget was slashed after the war in one of the few times the Army got the worst of it, expensive, production lines would have had to been switched over during said cut, reliable detachable magazines were still relatively expensive, yada yada the money wasn't there you get it. Juice wasn't worth the squeeze to develop a rifle that *might* give you a leg up on the bad guy if it worked perfect, even if Ordnance trusted grunts to not try to eat the magazines. With no pressure from a foreign power to mass adopt self loaders, everyone was happy to let a purpose built firearm develop.

They want 20'' barrel penetration from a 16" incher against hard armor. Will it work? I have my doubts and suspect the M7 will join the pile of failed pretenders.
why don't they make a HESH round, but scaled down to rifle-size

pretty sure that the shockwave will go through human body armor and cause some nasty internal wounds, no need for it to penetrate armor

feel free to correct me sir, as that is far from my expertise

RIP your thumb
Two things:

1) The M1 Carbine loads from a detachable magazine, no thumb involved
2) The only time the Garand bites your thumb is if you haven't maintained it properly and you load it wrong. If the rifle is maintained properly the bolt hold open will hold the bolt back after the enbloc is inserted, and then will release the bolt forward after you cycle the charging handle. Even if the rifle isn't maintained properly it still won't bite you if you hold your hand on it properly. The proper way to hold your hand on the rifle is to put your right thumb on top of the enbloc while keeping your palm against the right side of the receiver so that the meat of your palm is against the charging handle, this way if the bolt does jump forward on its own it still won't bite you because your palm is in the way.

Because the teeny tiny amount of explosive filler you'd get in most rifle cartridges, even for a full sized rifle cartridge, wouldn't be enough to actually do anything. Plus body armor plates whether they be ceramic or steel are covered in spall liner that prevents HESH from working effectively anyways. Plus the lower density of the projectiles would (in all likelihood) adversely affect accuracy. Plus you'd get a lot more mileage out of just using a hard, dense material such as tungsten or cobalt as a penetrator. Plus the easiest way to get around body armor is to simply teach your guys to shoot for a belt buckle hold anyways.
