General Wrestling Discussion

Is there any iconic episodes of Raw/Smackdown I should watch?

I’d love it so much if they had collections of just the storylines + matches of single feuds. Which if I’m not mistaken used to be how WWF released VHS Tapes. Like I think I pretty much revisited the Bret Hart-Austin feud which I think everyone knows culminated in the GOAT Wrestlemania match.

Bret Hart ends up being bloodied and beaten to defeat Roddy Piper in WM8 (which sent Bret over) then Bret does it for Austin in WM13 except Bret goes further by hitting Austin with the bell which even Roddy determined was too brutal. It’s like poetry, they rhyme.
One of my favorite Smackdowns personally was one in early 2006 in Pittsburg where Batista had to relinquish the WHC. There was a Piper's Pit with the Boogeyman, a match between Randy Orton and Chris Benoit, and the main event was a 20-man rumble for the WHC proper. I remember it being a really good episode, I just forgot what day it was.

Does Dean think that slapstick is the only indicator of a comedy act? What kind of reddit-tier selling is that drivel? Guys, I know you all think Home Alone was a comedy, but ahckshually... And Orange Smoothy has been in aew for 5 years, he is what he is. A skinny dork minor leaguer who gets to wear a cool guy halloween costume every Wednesday of the year who's sole purpose is to get cheap laughs. And just like Atom Smol, Orange Smoothy just isn't believable as a serious character.

Can the Coconig blood feud die already? This is like if the NWO civil war had Wolfpac full of completely unknown jobbers led by fucking X-Pac and Holywood was just Hogan, Hall, and Nash. Which would make the whole thing seem pointless. Which this coconut nigger feud is. The real Bloodline featuring Sami Zayn is fighting some fat brown jobbers who vaguely share ballsack hair and man tit genes with the Rock.

Corny and Brian talk about the WON HOF.

Da Bucks are in but the Steiners aren't. Disgraceful.

I also disagree with his complaints about RAW and Nitro having too many DQ finishes for main events. The big names didn't need to be doing jobs on TV every week. As long as PPV matches didn't have too many bullshit finishes I never cared. RAW and Nitro were just setting up every monthly PPV anyway.

I never cared much about the main event guys and their storylines anyway, I liked watching the middleweight guys put on shows much more. And I'll say this for WCW, they let those guys shine in between the endless NWO pointless promos and bullshit.

The inductees for the WON Hall of Fame of 2024 are:
  1. Roman Reigns.
  2. "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff (RIP)
  3. Shingo Takagi
  4. Los Hermanos Dinamita (Cien Caras, Máscara Año 2000 and Universo 2000)
  5. Johnny Saint
  6. CIMA.
  7. Johnny Rougeau.
  8. The Young Bucks.
  9. Bobby Davis.
The fact that the Bucks got here first than the Steiner Brothers is a fucking travesty.

Does Dave try to justify this? And Paul Orndorff is still not in his (Dave's) HOF?!? Crazy.
Oh I want to see him try to justify this shit. Especially with the awful year that the Bucks had, I have the theory that Dave inducted them just to mitigate a little the shitshow of a year that these duo of retards had.

Dave and his readers have been pushing the agenda that the Bucks are the best in-ring and most influential tag team of the last 20 years. The Bucks naming a finisher after Dave just adds to the kiss-ass relationship.

If the Bucks are getting credit as bookers for helping to found AEW, I am of the opinion that Excalibur and Super Dragon have a much stronger case than the Bucks do of going in as bookers. The PWG style has basically become the current indie style of wrestling, and has even become absorbed into the WWE style of wrestling, seeing as many of their current stars have PWG influences.

He's already said stupid shit like they're the best tag team of all time, so I am sure he did. He claims that the readers vote on them, but the readers are heavily influenced by what Dave says
