Fat Acceptance Movement / Fat Girlcows

Let’s remember that Shiva was once an average, not fat sized woman. She chose to eat herself into obesity. She’s also a well-off JAP from New York so she has zero excuses for not having a winter coat. She’s just pissed that she out-fatted her last one in less than a year.

No they should not. It's hugely insulting to compare the two. You can opt out of being fat, not a privilege available to those with say, paraplegia or MS.
The fats have already munchied their way into the disability rights crowd. Their “disabilities” are almost entirely self-induced or part of a nebulous neurotic cluster— Ehlers Danlos, Chronic Fatigue, etc. It’s entirely unfair to the people with actual issues to have some Anna O’Brien type or that ugly blob with the pageboy taking up space in their movement.

DEVASTATION.

Idk, when I think of devastation I think of the recent hurricane Helene or something like that. Not being able to easily find fashionable clothing in size elephant does not a devastation make.
I can believe that suddenly needing a new coat could happen. She outfatted her old coat and just checked the weather report at her destination and saw there's an unexpected cold front coming in. But I don't believe she spent SIX HOURS shopping in Los Angeles and could not find one single coat to fit her. And even if the main story is true (it's not), why not go to a thrift store, retard? Or get a men's coat. Or ask to borrow a warm tarp from a member of her fat ~community~? No, she'd rather come home and cry on Instagram about "basic human rights."

Oh fuck this noise.

I lived in Japan for 10 years. I couldn't find a pair of shoes, shirts or coats that would fit me unless I was willing to spend five times more for them. You know what I did? I bought my stuff online. No word of a lie that buying two pairs of jeans from JC Penny and having them ship them over to Japan cost me less than buying one pair of the same jeans in a Japanese store. Same for shoes and shirts.

Guess what I didn't do? Complain that Japan was being gaijinphobic for not carrying things in my size. Instead I planned ahead and understood that the average Japanese was shorter and less bulky than I was.

She's urgently trying to find a coat for a trip because she just found out it's going to be freezing.
In winter.
Does she not know how climates work?
Climate is fatphobic. So no.

But then she couldn't get those delicious asspats and oppression points.

Shira Rosenbluth got her MSW from NYU, which is, in itself, a huge marker that she was born into a highly privileged class. She's a JAP from a wealthy family who lives in the LA area, is licensed to practice in New York and California, and goes back and forth between the two cities. So I have even less tolerance for her whining about her self-inflicted problems than I do for deathfats who didn't start life on third base.

In winter.
Does she not know how climates work?
She lives in LA, where the skinnies bust out their Uggs and swathe themselves in cozy oversized sweaters when the temps drop below 70°F, so no.

But seriously, I'm with everybody who has already guessed that she discovered too late that she's out-fatted the coat she wore last winter.

And yeah, I can believe she couldn't find anything after six hours of shopping, because not only are a lot of stores online-only for plus sizes (especially for 3X and above), but also because she's in LA, the biggest shitlord metro area in the US, But even if more plus sizes were available in-store, heavy winter coats are not a Thing for most of the skinnies in the LA area, much less the fats, and store inventories will reflect that. She will have much better luck finding a fatty-sized coat in-store once she's in a place where it actually gets cold enough to wear one regularly (assuming that place is in the US). Or, she can order one online and either pay for rush shipping, or have it sent to her destination.

One of the girls I went to high school with is 5'0" and weighs maybe 100lbs. She's also an attorney, who not only has to show up every day dressed professionally, but has to counteract her tiny stature in order to be taken seriously. We met in Home Ec, where we were both learning to sew because neither of us fit standard sizes; she now pays to have all of her work clothes (and most of her casual clothes) made, and yes, it's expensive and requires advance planning. She orders shoes from Asian sites, and hopes they'll fit. She takes vacations in Japan and Southeast Asia specifically to go shopping. Her struggle to find clothes makes mine seem insignificant.

Anyway, fat bitch Shira wants to complain about how there are no suitable clothes for her in-store, and her human rights are being violated by that? My petite lawyer acquaintance would no doubt like to have words with her, and they would not be very nice words. Shira isn't put at a massive disadvantage in her profession, and her ability to earn an income, by not being able to find work-appropriate clothes, or casual wear that isn't from the kids' section (which isn't cut to fit adult women's bodies).

Clothing is available to Shira; she will find a coat, either online or at her destination. What is really being denied to her due to her choice to be fat are convenience and unlimited options. And those are not "basic human rights."

Being able to walk into a store and buy something isn’t a human right, it wasn’t even a thing 100 years ago. People had to make all their own clothes or pay someone to make them.
Typical deathfat; she knows nothing about how anything is made, and what it takes to get things into a store, and what it costs a manufacturer or a retailer just to offer it to her. So of course she has no idea why manufacturers and retailers have been so willing to cut or reduce their plus size offerings, especially in sizes above 3X—it's because they aren't profitable. And no business is legally or morally obligated to keep subsidizing an expanded size range that is a drag on their bottom line.

Her options, if she's going to insist on staying fat and getting fatter, are to learn to sew; pay a seamstress with plus-size fitting experience to make clothes for her; and/or accept that acquiring clothing is always going to require advance planning. That's it.

Many of the long-term ramifications of obesity remain even after you lose weight, such as damaged hips/knees, cardiovascular and pulmonary strain, etc. Which means even if you do lose the weight, you can still be permanently disabled by having been so heavy at all in the first place, especially if it was for a particularly long time.

Given how many kids are growing up obese and - even if they thin out eventually - will likely have their bodies permanently damaged by being obese during such an important part of development, it makes me a bleeding heart on the matter. You're free to feel differently, of course.

Suggest a place called Hoi An in Vietnam to her - it’s a town filled with tailors and it’s quite an experience. You go, a gaggle of gimlet-eyed little old ladies measure you up and then in a few days you have a whole professional wardrobe. Those ladies are magicians.

Barbie Ferreira of Euphoria fame lost weight (and congrats to her, she looks great!) and the chimpouts and hot takes from the FAs and SJWs are incoming:

How is it fascism when some actress decides to lose lard? Oh wait, I forgot that fitness and health are super right wing ideas. Because socialists and commies fully support deathfat queens.

The fascist-fearing’ fatty who wrote this is Alida Jacobs, a they/them who graduated from UC Davis. She’s also Jewish and heavily involved in the Free Palestine movement.

Pretty girl. She should consider losing the weight. If Barbie could do it, so can you Alida!

Back in Japan a lot of English teachers used to jet down to Hong Kong for the weekend to get a "summer suit" made up of the thinnest material possible because summers there are brutal.
Each one had his own place that he'd go. Get measured up and the suits would be ready by the time he was set to leave.

Didn't you know? Fascism, especially for leftists, is "anything I don't like". That and the patriarchy.

So you want to lose weight and you're a fatass? It's only because of fascism, and the patriarchy, that you're doing that.

Of course it's a gender special. It's always a gender special.

Oh silly me, forgetting that part of Mein Kampf.

Have they ever studied what life was/is like in communist countries? (We all know the answer to this)

I imagine there's a unique betrayal in Barbie Ferreira losing weight to many of these girls because her storyline in Euphoria was centered around her becoming more promiscuous as a way of fighting back against her body image issues, I think. (I watched a few episodes but found it... unpleasant, to say the least.) Given how many youngsters these days seem to struggle with delineating actors from their roles, I could see them feeling intensely negative about her slimming down, because of the underlying message received: whenever someone heavy gets smaller, it always has a hollow, scary feeling for them - one in which deep down, they recognize that they, too, could change.

Also, so weird that bilateral mastectomies are life-saving medical interventions but losing weight is giving into fascism. So much for "my body, my choice", right?

Being a fat slut as empowerment. Holy moly.

Fascism and communism are at opposite ends of the scale but no. Anybody pushing for communism is an idiot. Even the biggest commissars from the former Soviet empire turned into the biggest capitalists once communism fell. Besides if communism was the answer we'd all be communist now. Even China isn't technically communist and they were one of the biggest proponents of it.

:story:
Of course it is. It's sticking it to the patriarchy so it's got to be good. I mean if you come along as both fat AND empowered to have sex with everybody you can then you automatically win against anybody when it comes to the patriarchy. Didn't you know that?
