Gaetz going for Gov. is hardly a downgrade! While most Gov positions aren't as singularly powerful as the President, they're still either the explicit heads or the general matchmakers of their State's executive branch, and usually the most notable party presence. If this election should have taught us anything it's that State positions are MORE important than Federal positions. We were meant to be a bottom-up ran country, we must utilize this legal capability to it's fullest, as seen in various battleground states and even fucking California.
I would completely agree with this if I didn't utterly despise the man. However you are right about federalism.

Has there been any other president-elect that can influence foreign policy like this just by shouting from the sidelines? We had China stop their car factory in Mexico, we have some international corps already planning on building some factories in the US, we have the XL pipeline starting up discussions again, we have cease fire being more seriously discussed in Ukraine and Palestine. He isn't even in office yet but it feels like things are already moving forward.
No cause Trump is the only crazy enough to actually say it AND follow through. World Leaders know this. Vance better take notes and listen.

Other world leader love working with Trump since he will not shank them in the back for local political reasons. If Trump makes a deal he does the deal. You fuck with the US he fucks you back harder. Its pretty straight forward and predictable.

All Trump has to do is threaten to release all the FBI/DEA/CIA/NSA/State Department files on how the government in Mexico is compromised up to the very top by the cartels. Which everybody already knows is true but acts like it isn't because the shitstorm would be too messy. This time around what does Trump care how big a mess it would cause for the Mexicans? At least that should be what he makes the Mexicans think...
Everybody in Mexico already knows the cartels are really in charge and have been forever. There's no leverage with that "secret". The only solution is to kill them all.

Trump has a hammer that he knows how to use

Its cute Mexico thinks they have a choice here. If they do this Trump will just put a 50% tax on any cash money following from the US to Mexico.

Pretty soon pajeets are going to get banned from any high level position much like the gays where back in the 50s.
I can't actually find anything about the stopping of migrant caravans outside of this tweet. Not even on this account's own advertised news site. I only see corroborating stories about the retaliation claims. Where is this account getting this information from?

Is there any way that he can threaten something to EU/UK and stop Macron and Starmer from continuing to inflame the war in Ukraine?

Let Starmer and Macron bluff all they want and undermine themselves both internationally and at home. The politics of shrieking hysterically while carrying a tiny twig you just poked a large predator with.

Of course there is leverage, if it's out in the open all their money and property they've stashed in other countries can be seized, their usefulness to the cartels ends and they become possible liabilities, their ability to leave Mexico to try to avoid getting whacked or for any reason is hampered... there's a thousand reasons why they want the secret part of the open secret to remain operative

Another one still floating around, at least at my job, is IDEA. I had to stifle a laugh in our orientation when the first comparison our IDEA director (who constantly referred to it as DEI during the meeting) made was the usual "look at the different foods we get to eat" nonsense.

Sometimes I feel bad for her, knowing that her entire job revolves around trying to prove her job is necessary, but then I remember we'd be better off if these people and their ideology were mocked and derided until silence or suicide.
Is anyone going to tell her or them that IDEA already exists within the ADA, and is strictly about education:
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) work together to protect children and adults with disabilities from exclusion, discrimination, and unequal treatment in education, employment, and the community.
So are all the DEI hires considered disabled now? I know some of them claim to be, but why rename DEI as IDEA when it connotes disabilities? Unless your job is in education, someone hasn't thought this through.

Unlike the Democrats, Trump follows basic gut-level human principles. This is because Democrats are oversocialized and, thus, do not behave rationally.

Uncle Ted was kind of a kook, but Dear Christ In Heaven was he correct about oversocialization.
