IMO, Shmorky is above average overall. His sense of colors isn't bad. Craftsmanship is decent, great in his animations. He's consistent. I think what draws people in is the subject material, whether it be the humor or the cutesy klurfs.

His main problem is that he doesn't really go out of his comfort zone anymore, like many cow artists including the likes of Dobson. All he wants to draw are klurfs, klurfs, klurfs, vague self-victimization comics, and whatever he can jack it to. The shitty pornography from his patreon with the awkward proportions we saw are really telling.

Now I don't know if it's because he's lazy or if it's because he knows his current stuff with the klurfs and shit is what will get him the attention and the Patreon bux he wants.

His style is easy to replicate because it has to be easy to animate. Things have to be intensely simplified to be animated well -- Think of the Johnny Quest and Captain Planet cartoons. Their animation was not as bouncy or fluid as Shmorky's because they were detailed and anatomically correct.

His style is appealing in the sense Fraggle Rock is. Cute muppet-y characters and bright colors. However, this is his only style and he can't draw anything more complex than that crap. Case in point, when he tried to do anatomically correct klurfs for his porn. He doesn't have much credibility as an artist and has too many weaknesses to count.

Good job, by the way. It looks pretty similar to his work.

Edit: His main talent seems to be animation, which I won't lie, is p. good, however again, his art is a factor in that, and it's dull and bland to me.

Hi, artsy type with smarty pants words, but I'm going to say you're correct.

It's bland and lacks any sort of technical skill to it. Look at his comics -- Backgrounds are generally blobs just like his characters. He stagnated years and years ago and it's incredibly obvious.

Not to mention, since everyone shit their pants (lol) over his work, he probably felt he was the cat's meow and didn't need to improve, because OBVIOUSLY if it wasn't great people wouldn't love it!
