Ukrainian Defensive War against the Russian Invasion - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

Archival footage shot by a serviceman of the Russian Armed Forces in Orlovka, Donetsk Oblast, completely destroyed by the occupiers and littered with their corpses and equipment.

IDK whether anyone here followed Elon's sperg about how the F-35 program needs to be abolished because the aircraft is worthless and broken by design.
Very ironic for a man who owns a company that makes a vehicle where its full operating range is paywalled behind a few lines of code.

What’s up with zigga retards here thinking that America is suddenly going to turn on Zelensky as if he were Saddam or post-2003 Gaddafi? As far as I know, he hasn’t attacked American allies or blown up civvie planes.
They bought into the Democrats' propaganda and figure Trump is going to let Ukraine get fucked over by Russia because he's a Putin lover. Meanwhile Trump is wanting to appoint Keith Kellogg to special envoy to Ukraine and he's less than a fan of Russia's actions in Ukraine.

He has a point tho, unmanned combat crafts are a thing now,
He really doesn't because you know what else is a thing? Electronic warfare like hacking and jamming, not to mention good old fashioned Murphy's Law. We've already had examples of drones going wrong, look at the Iranian hacking of an RQ-170, or when Russia recently had to shoot it's own Okhotnik drone after it decided to go walkabouts towards Ukraine.

I'm sure that overtime we'll see increased use of unmanned/automated shit like the planned loyal wingman drones and stuff since losing an expensive drone is still preferable to losing an expensive plane and the human(s) inside, but to think we're anywhere close to making that the primary method anytime soon is naive at best, and willfully idiotic at worst.

Remember we're talking about a man who has been promising self driving cars are coming next year for the last decade plus, if we can't get a fucking car to drive down the street reliably, we sure as shit aren't making entirely unmanned planes.

1)Ruble isn't down it's actually up
2)no wait I read the graph wrong, it is down, but 10% isn't a collapse
3)It's collapsing but here's why that's a good thing
This tweet thread almost made me collapse a lung lmao. I'm sure the incredibly closely knit fraternal alliance of BRICS will help by buying their Russian imports in Rubles (they won't).
He has a point tho, unmanned combat crafts are a thing now, pilot meat can take only so many G's
Unmanned craft slaved to piloted stealth platforms from what little is publicly available seems to be at least what the Air Force wants to develop. Autonomous craft are a bad idea, we can barely program a car that drives itself down a road without killing people. Something that can be trusted to autonomously find, select, and properly identify friendlies, targets, and objectives in the mess of electronic jamming, countermeasures, and who knows what else the modern battlefield is does not and will not exist for decades.

"AI" can't even drive a car, I doubt any of the current models can be taught to fly a plane, let alone on in a challenging environment.
Reminder that Elon Musk is a retard who has no idea what he's talking about and actively resists learning about anything.

That video must be ancient, the subtitle mentions first deliveries of tanks to Ukraine. Back then being russophobic was okay in the Republican Party. Nowadays not having a deranged hatred for all things Ukrainian and NATO is the standard.

However, he did an interview last week where he was asked about the topic, and quite surprisingly for a Trump appointee, he was lucid and pushed back against the FOX talking heads:
He said the ICBM attack was a threat without substance, and that the US should respond by reminding Russia that it's not the only country that has nuclear weapons, instead of cucking to Russia (complete contradiction to MAGA positions). He approves of Biden's decision to permit long range strikes into Russia and says that should have happened far earlier, recalling the failed Ukrainian summer offensive that was kneecapped by American restrictions. He says anything that improves the Ukrainian position ultimately will make life easier for Trump, since he will have a stronger negotiating position and more options.

(IDK how to download videos from FOX, his segment starts at about 2min45s)

I would hold your breath, you might support him but we have no idea what’s going to happen.

This is even richer when Tesla has removed the ultrasonic parking sensors in favor of vision systems for automated parking on the new Model 3. They don't work in the dark. So they fail in underground parking garages where having a machine that can read all blind spots at the same time is the most useful. Elon then claims that vision systems, literal line of fucking sight, are better than radar. Please ignore that planes can fly at night and that IRST is already in use.

His self driving vehicles can't even drive through a one lane tunnel built by another Musk company.

A'fucking'men

So much of Musk's mystique comes from crediting the work of thousands of engineers, technicians, and programmers to one man. It's maddening.

Sorry if I am late, but what caused the sudden drop in the ruble value?
Further sanctions? Or just compromised economy?
Some secondary sanctions went into effect a few months ago, so it could be hysteresis. But the scale and speed makes me think that the Russian central bank cannot paper over the absolute drain on everything. Russia is entering Total War Special Military Operation. Their economy is now destined only for the production of mobik cubes. Other concerns will be increasingly secondary.

There is also a narrative that Russia cannot stop the war for economic reasons. This is stupid. Soldiers go home, factories are retooled. A recession, if not a outright depression, will occur without a doubt but pushing it off will only make it worse. The gas must flow, the silos must be full, and the propaganda reels readied. After that, the Russian people will simply deal with it. The 90s were worse. If the peace deal includes some amount of lifted sanctions then the pain will be much more temporary.

Autonomous aircraft are a lot easier to operate than autonomous ground vehicles anyway because there's less things for them to crash into.
It's well known to be easier to fly a modern jet fighter in a combat operation than drive to the store to get milk because there are less things to crash into. Which is why fighter pilots require no training and can basically just be any random joe off the streets.
