No, it isn't. It's bullshit. Everything indicates whether or not they have a deal it isn't signed and it isn't approved by the judge, or they wouldn't be having another conference.

They aren't "imposed," though. The court could not do this on its own initiative. You can agree to anything it's legal to agree to as part of a plea deal, though, because you voluntarily accept the condition in return for something. Nick has the right to associate with April. He also has the right to agree not to do so in return for something of value to him.

Short of something obviously illegal, like signing himself into indentured servitude to the prosecutor, nearly anything can be in a plea agreement. It's how prosecutors get conditions they could never or almost never get from an actual court order.

No, it's cocaine. It's a class of minor drug felony including schedule 1, 2, 3, 4 and NOT A SMALL AMOUNT of marijuana. In her case it's schedule 2, cocaine (small amount). Presumably this is from drug residues. I find this to be a very weak case especially charged as a felony. I suspect it was brought for the purposes of leverage.

Moreover, while I totally get that Nick is an arrogant son of a bitch who can never admit when he's wrong (hence it being an "anathema" for him), it should be noted that him taking a plea would dovetail with his meager professional experience.

Most of Nick's cases, as a defense attorney, have ended with him pleading out his clients where he can't secure a dismissal. Nick has never outright won an acquittal, ever. I'm not sure Nick knows how to get an acquittal.

In Nick's case, obviously, he utterly failed to secure a dismissal, so guess what other tactic he knows to apply here.
