Underrated point. Even if you keep your kid out of public schools, even if you don't have Netflix, even if you go to a based church and choose friends and associates carefully- what's it doing to your kid just having to see fucked up fetishists walking around whenever they leave the house? And that's becoming an issue even if you live in a "safe red state." Not everyone can live in a bunker in the middle of a mountainside, and even those who do sometimes need to go in to town to restock.
This happened to us. My kids don't have smartphones, or any unsupervised Internet. There are three troons working at the grocery where
my autistic brother works (boy has that resulted in hilarity, as his first query was made to his manager "umm, did that guy lose a bet?").
This 6ft 300lb retard shouting about being a lesbian in the frozen foods in that super loud robot voice some autistics have. Fuck me.
When questions came up I told the bald truth, vulnerable kids that have seen a lot handle things straight up best - there are mentally ill
people who have chosen this to distract themselves from their own sadness and pain. Most people know better. When we have a
sadness, or anxiety, we talk about it until it gets resolved, because surgery and drugs cannot help us. One day, they will find real help, or
they will die. It's sad, and we should avoid them while they are figuring out their life. If one approaches you, be polite, and keep it brief.
They look scary, but they are mostly just sad and strange. No need to be afraid, but do not engage. It's normal to feel uneasy or weird
when you see them, that's how you should feel when you see something like that.
Took the boys to the range day before Thanksgiving for a little brush up, too. Helps kids feel like they aren't powerless. They can protect
themselves and their families if necessary. If you have a kid with low self esteem or anxiety, consider an introduction to firearms. I know
a girl who was raped as a child who operated at such a level of vigilance I was afraid she'd have a fuckin heart attack, and her personality
has *bloomed* it was so beautiful to see.
