Lolcow KingCobraJFS / Josh Saunders - Amateur musician, YouTube Streamer, wandmaker, and self-proclaimed "sexy goth badboy". Perpetually circling the drain.

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Well, Cobes has a lot higher tolerance to pain than most people yesssttt
Dood just altered his lifestyle to revolve around the pain. Very gothic.

There's a lot to say on the subject of Cobra documentaries. NiaP is a worthy part 2 in the yet to be completed trilogy but of course is not as good as GKC. If there's a single reason for that it's because trappped's doc really captured Casper as a character in a way that NiaP, with it's bouncing around between tattoo and fast food scenes, just couldn't (but at least had some good opening establishment shots).

I'm struggling to finish this post. I think that GKC resonates because Josh hasn't so much changed as he's been boiled down, so everyone that's come on board this decade is no less fascinated by 2014 Cobra.
I think the reason why GKC resonates with people is because it completely transcends being a lolcow documentary and is really about the bleakness of post recession small town America. I think most people who grew up somewhere like Caspar know someone like Josh during that stage of his life (the documentary was actually shot during 2012). Someone who just drifts around down working dead end jobs, never to leave their town or find any kind of success. It combines the bleakness of a Bela Tarr movie with the trashiness of Gummo. There’s nothing else like out there and it certainly helps how great the cinematography, editing, and soundtrack are.

His whole life and demeanor would change if he had a Crock-Pot
I can only imagine the slop he would make. Beef jerky, salmon, 4 different kinds of cheese, some Mountain Dew, and of course Doritos for 4 hours cooking and 6 warming as he passes out.

I don’t support contacting or sending him shit but this would make some good content. It also doesn’t pose a risk of him burning down his trailer or blowing himself up (pressure cooker).

Really, all he needs is some dirt to harvest the wild clay in it... The big issue would be firing it. I don't think Clint would allow the BOY to make or use a kiln...
It would be a disaster waiting to happen and that entire trailer park would go up in flames lol.

His smile and optimism: gone
looked up full dentures, apparently its around $100k for tops and bottoms.
Dentures? You may mean implants, which are expensive as fuck per tooth and can get to the high five-figures out of pocket. For full top and bottom, non-implant supported dentures for the Boy, 5-7k after the whole process wouldn't be surprising. If it was getting close to life-and-death for the Boy I don't doubt that Clint would fork it out. He'd probably make Josh pay him back some with his 'Toobs money.

You can get some VERY nice electric ones, that are table top format designed for small workshops - the Chineese ebay ones are OK and they can be dialed in easily (well for non boglims) and you can get American made ones that are frankly Superb, (I have a larger one I can do Ceramics in but it's made specificity for heat treating, I have also got and one I built myself a few years ago that's even bigger but normally I used the old Hot Bar method for my own / historical stuff) but you can get low temp clays designed to be done by the heat from a coal fired BBQ.

It would be like watching evolution happen in real time, like the time when that one boat wrecked at North Sentinel island and started their iron age when they started making spears and arrow heads from it. :D

I was thinking more Space Oddesy myself, a box like the obelisk he bangs against and it give him the genesis of original thought.

I've said it before about Chis an Josh they likely have some weirdly specific artsy skill they have a natural aptitude for but will never get close to it because they don't have the exposure to it, like Gem setting, or tile making etc, I'd love to get a handle on what Josh's would be.
