Just watched this last night and, while mostly awesome, there were a couple things that rubbed me the wrong way:

1) I probably spend too much time on KF and am turning into a chud, but the way he’d constantly talk about “darker/brown skinned people with dark eyes” and repeat those details frequently was bizarre. It almost felt like an attempt to subconsciously implant the “Irish have always been brown with black eyes” idea to justify bringing in more ‘turd worlders. This episode was written/sponsored by a career academic, so that lines up with the political zeitgeist sadly…

2) Last few minutes turned into pointless climate change sperging that really wasn’t related to the video at all. He TRIES to connect it to glacial carving of the land, but it really felt like a political “academic” talking down to us about what we need to care about. Again, see point 1).

Other than those, the video was awesome. I wish he went into more detail about the megalithic structures and why that one was “inaccurately reconstructed in the 70s).

To my understanding this is actually accurate as the Celtic Irish are closest related, and in legend descended from, Iberian Celts. The blond/red hair and light eyes is a result of Viking admixture and mostly found in southern and eastern regions near Viking settlements. Though the darker skin would fade on account of it being goddamn Ireland. I read that years ago so I could be wrong.

In more relevant news they are going to make Cold War series next year and after that space race.
Space race could be interesting, as for Cold War I have not much hope that it will be watchable.
There are interesting parts of Cold War, but there are long periods where only thing going on is Whocarestans civil war with Soviets and US funding opposite sides.
Another problem is Cold War politics still effect us today so it will invite lot of polisperging about modern day stuff.
Fact they are planning to resurrect timeghost Channel and put Cold War series there pretty much confirms it.

I admit I have seen Cold War Channel in my recomended before. But until now I have not watched anything from them.
Now after I checked it I will say format is simillar to Great War/World War 2.
Coverage. First video on Cold War Channel came out in february 2019 . So couple of months after week by week coverage of WW1 ended.
But as for as I can tell there was no interaction between Timeghost crew and Cold War Channel. You would think if they were part of same team they would make collabs, by now.
Also both groups have separate patreon.

So Imo they are two different groups. Cold War Channel was inspired by Great War format and there are maybe some of former Great War Channel staff working on Cold War Channel. But I have no time to dig enough to confirm it.

Cold War channel is kings and generals spin off, it’s a pretty ass channel. From what little I’ve seen they get stuff wrong so often I have to distrust everything they say, I’m talking getting stuff from the 90s wrong levels of incompetent.

He deleted everything. His patreon, channel and even all of YoutubeWiki stuff deleted. It happened so quickly that the most comprehensive archive channels of his stuff are missing like half of his videos. He has not resurfaced since and is probably unemployed with his economics degree.

A funny character. He Jihaded against anime & lolicon and then groomed a 14 year old.
