Fellas, this right here is why Metals are king.

This is a screenshot of a big Brazilian seller taken as of the writing of this post (Nov 28th, 2024) and it shows a 1oz silver round that was for sale and on sale (currently out of stock, possibly because it went on sale).
They are charging 380BRL for it, or 360BRL if you pay up front.
At the start of the year? Here is a shot from the wayback machine:

Our government is blowing through money at a rate similar to fucking Ukraine, without the excuse of a war. We are literally accuring debt at wartime levels. The fat commie Lula seized power in 2022, and from the moment he took over in 2023 he managed to take a country that was 54 Billion BRL on the green to now being almost 180 Billion BRL on the red. And speeding up.
And this is what the prices looked like in 2019, before Covid caused a global run on metals.

I got a 5oz bar on the site for around 940BRL at the start of the year. The listing no longer exists, but the closest one from the same mint for 10oz is now over 3500BRL, meaning the same 5oz would be likely over 1400BRL today.
"Official" inflation figures for the year are like 5%. It's plain bullshit.
