If I had to guess, she is experiencing Nick's special attention right now where Nick gaslights her and gets her to accept that she is responsible for all of Nick's problems. That if she would just hate herself more, stop talking to outsiders and do what Nick tells her to do, that everything in their lives would be so much more wonderful.

"sticking to myself" likely means she needs to stop talking to anyone other than Nick and better socially isolate herself even more than she already is. She needs to better understand the need to say "no" to any person on the outside of Balldo nation who might reach out to her.

I always thought Nick's long-term reaction to his legal problems would be to isolate his "family" from all outside contact and to make himself the only member of the cult to speak to outsiders.

The cops send them a sympathetic look, which they’ve probably come to HATE, so they just look down. After all, they’ve heard it so many times before.

I’m sure that once the cops had left and Nick drove off and calmed down, he gave them another little lecture on how LUCKY they are, that he doesn’t mind spending so much time driving them back and forth.

I hope Nick does pick April.
