Warhammer 40k

Why do they never make anything as badass as Gears of war's Lancer with the chainsaw bayonet? Why bother with that gay paddleboards they call powerswords when they can just add a chainsword bayonet to a Bolter instead? Wouldnt be the first time GW stole an idea from another IP and I haven't seen any fan attempts at it with custom miniatures either.

I assume you're trolling, but on the slight chance you're not:

For some reason they've kept the chainsaw bayonets stuck to 30k/Horus Heresy Marines, they will probably release more tacticool primaris bullshit before even thinking of giving them to them.
Since the new kits for 30k are muh truescale it shouldnt be too hard to crib those for 40k marines

I'm slightly baffled as to why anyone would care what a failed political candidate and part time Applebee's waiter thinks of your paintjob, or even what particular credentials Sargon thinks he possesses to give critique on another's painting, but here we go.

Personally, I think "Rating Your Minis" is a bit of an uninspired video title, Carl. I'd've gone for "I Wouldn't Even Paint You."

I've always felt Joji had it down best for naming videos like this. "Loser Reads Hater Comments" is the perfect title, simple, gets to the point, and makes fun of the commentator as well. The man was an artist, a master of his craft.

The sprue marks, and mold lines. It's like he didn't even fucking try. Of all the things for this retard to try and start a channel covering, painting minis? And he's been at this shit for a damned year now? Fuck off. No one is interested in the opinion of a damned applebee's employee.

I was not trolling and had not seen any in the dawn of war games or space marine 1 and 2 which were my primary experience with WH40k.

Because a bayonet is just a cheap spear, invented when muskets were a thing.

It is easier to give it to people than to have them carry a spear in addition to the gun. IG has it. Plus it can be a knife when needed too, so you get a lot of mileage out of it.

Space marines can just carry a dedicated melee weapon, they don't care about an extra 50 to 100 kilos.
In the Horus Heresy they were more mass produced, so it made more sense.

A Powersword also has better anti-armour characteristics, as it has a disruptor field, a type of scifi magic that makes things disintegrate. Like a star trek gun or a lightsaber, for normie reference, except there are no resistant materials. Energy shields/other power weapons do work against them.

After that you get the Thunder Hammer, that does this in an AOE fashion. And necron guns that, well shoot it.
Of course, for gameplay this is toned down, or anything smaller than a tank, dreadnought, carnifex or hive tyrant would get deleted by a single thunder hammer hit.

Dawn of War and Space Marine, while I love those franchises, they have like 1/3rd of the stuff they could put in because of practicality.

Old man yells at cloud warning, but back in my day when it was up hill both ways to the local gw, the game was full of this kind of thing. Power fists which are fists that can punch through space ship hulls. Basic bolter rounds were armour piercing explosives that detonated inside the target. Tyranids fired beetles that ate through the person they hit. And of course, "chain fists", which were power fists, with a chainsaw.

There was even a short story in one of the books where a ganger gets a Eldar weapon and is horrified how a weapon so small rips another to shreds in a single burst.

I get that these days such things are seen as dumb, immature, and unrealistic, but to a teenager those things were metal as fuck. It was the time where we'd draw fantasy weapons like chainsaw launchers or guns that were also swords.

after finishing space marine 2 I remembered I really liked the white panthers color scheme from waaaay back, then I looked it up if I could find the pictures again... only to stumble upon the "lore" and they really are turbo retards.

least I didn't paint any minis yet
:stress:

lol, that is true. I don't think I've ever seen a supposed picture of Arch's minis even. It's not like he has any reason to not show them, since everyone knows wtf he looks like, so they wouldn't be identifying him at the local store or anything.

Of course now I'm also imagining someone telling their friend how some smuckling eldar player showed up at the store after their shift at applebees, got tabled turn 2, and was never seen again.

You can paint your dudes any way and any form you want to. That out of the way; not every "bump" on a wraithconstruct is a spirit stone. In fact most of them are psychic nodes and maintenance clusters, since eldartech does not function through primitive cables, wires or cogs.

Hatty from Midwinter Minis posted a Q&A video recently, which is largely really boring and makes her out to be a bit of a boring bitch. Sadly, nobody asked "How do you live with yourself?"

I’d call you autistic and give you the rating but for Iron Warriors that’s beating a dead horse.

You’re also likely gonna get a kill team upgrade sprue. Be grateful your boring, imperfect legion got anything, those poor shattered legion and WE fuckers have nothing.

Dumb and immature? Yes. Fun? Also yes. I wasn't into Warhammer as a kid. I sort of knew about it only as they crazy sci-fi where everything is extreme. Of course as a teenager I thought being metal, and brutal, and grimdark was "mature". Now that I'm an adult with some amount of disposable income I wish I could see Warhammer the same. It's gotten soft and marketable. It's not all bad, but I feel like I got involved at the worst time and missed the rule of cool era. I like dipping into Oldhammer stuff and seeing where the setting came from. But it's one thing to look back and see the cool stuff that used to be, it's another to have been there to be part of it.
