This case reminded me of a case from 2004, I'm blanking on the name but a guy was renting out his home and lived near a college campus. He was found dead in his basement, tied up and was severely tortured (nor was it a swift execution). The suspect was seen briefly by the man's girlfriend from a bathroom mirror a week or so prior, and the suspect also used a mysterious name on the campus before. Unfortunately still not solved.

i'm conflicted because on one hand i presume the man had a family that loved and cared about him

on the other hand i'm sure that many of the people his company denied insurance to also had families that loved them, too.

Us here on the farms, resetera, reddit, twitter, etc. Ive seen more people agreeing the shooter did us all a favor than people mourning the death. Definitely right about the needs of the many outweigh the few.

If people are going to act like gangsters and rob the public, they should probably expect to have a gangster end to their lives. That might be one probable outcome when you act that way.

You can’t just rob people and lie to them for 20 years like it’s nothing. Even the ‘we miss him’ statements were lies; even his wife was separated from him and didn’t actually like him. This was a bad person and the lesson to take is don’t be a total cunt or it will catch up with you.

12 hour waits in the ER, 6 months long waits for surgeries, it’s terrible.

And their dentists btw, which ARENT part of the public system but are private are A OK.

Single payer healthcare sucks. If you Americans think you have it bad, you don’t know how bad single payer is.

Go look at /r/salary sometime on reddit and see what anesthesiologists make for knocking people out in the US. They work less than half the year and get paid over $750k.

In Spain and other western Euro countries they make around $200k, in places like Hungary they make about $25k and don't seem to do too much worse than the ones here.

"Doctors should get paid" is fine. "Doctors should be paid nearly a million bucks annually while taking 30 weeks off a year" isn't. They can only do this because the AMA acts like a real guild and deliberately keeps the number of entrants to the field extremely artificially low, to protect wages.

The thing is, doctors go to school for like a decade in some cases. Many only graduate medical school a million dollars in debt.

On top of that they have their insurance premiums which can also run at HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS a year.

So yeah, no wonder they get paid well. Doctors in Europe typically aren’t a million dollars in debt since their education is paid by the public purse in public universities.

I wanted to say I really appreciate your response. I admit there is a disconnection between my country and yours so I am trying to understand and I feel that you are doing a better job of explaining what I am trying to say. Your government has built this system, and your representatives are not representing your correctly. You can murder this man and every other health system CEO but they are all just puppets of the system in my opinion.

I want America to succeed because then countries like mine will succeed too. But when we see Americans resorting to violence we in turn take that as acceptable and I can promise you here it is much worse and far less accountable. Americans really don't understand their influence that if you set an example, then other countries with far less accountable will do far worse with even less justice. I again say that I do not disagree that he is a piece of shit, and in your reference he is a criminal. But do Americans not believe in justice? Do you believe justice is murder because of being a criminal? I think most depending on the crime would not agree. I already said it but I feel that Americans focus a single person and blame them for the problems and then think that removing that one person will be the problem is my point.

I don't disagree that from my understanding he has robbed your country, and likely been the cause of immense pain because of his actions. But he can't do this by himself, there is a system built to allow this man to carry out this actions. I don't know if I am explaining this well but it is really annoying for me to say that while he is part of the problem, he is not the problem. Executing a man for the system that the majority have upheld is strange.

Don’t know, but it increases the odds the longer he is free. But that case you mentioned is odd, the killer just happened to meet with a professor of the university who noticed his accent was Romanian because that was in her field of expertise. Also turned out to be right as DNA later showed. Quite odd. Or maybe the killer targeted her for that reason.

Firstly, you only ever hear about the incompetent ones - Just like COPS on TV only shows the times they actually arrest people successfully.
Secondly, I am guessing you live in a relatively high-trust society (i.e. a 1st world country). If you were in a 3rd world shithole, then the value of human life is much lower and the definition of "professional hitman" becomes a lot more vague and also a lot cheaper.

Contract killers exist of course but they're always bank robbers or drug dealers or underemployed drifters first. Nobody in the world is murdering enough people for money to make it a 'profession'. It's just extra side money for people who are willing to commit a murder and happen across somebody willing to pay for one. The idea of murder-for-hire being a viable profession is the part that isn't real. How would you even manage bookings for something like that?
