You're right: it's unsustainable to background check every single patron who rents a pool table from you.
I've only been one or two pool halls but in places without coin op tables the players usually turn in their ID's for table space, balls, cues, etc... Maybe the police just have a small list for the staff or a waitress may just not like someone and tipped them off.

Lots of small businesses have a wall of shame for patrons who’ve been banned. Once worked at a place that got its fair share of sex pests and shoplifters and we kept Polaroids of them in the managers office.
Funniest part about this post is that he only names things that wouldn't apply to at least 99% of people and actively praises all the things that would actually matter to normal people. I think this review would do more to incentivize people to go there moreso than not go there. The audience of "people who have a warrant out for their arrest" is not as big as fatso thinks.

I searched her, and she's the kind of gal who starts arguments at school board meetings at places her kids don't even go to school, and who sues (ACLU, ofc) after kicking up another fuss at an board of aldermen meeting over an "in God we trust" sign outside a little city hall & then goes on FoxNews about it. They're peas in a pod, it seems.
