You're getting close but you're still thinking "some angry dude" and implying an individual is the pivotal thing. Here's the big secret that's making all the billionaires from Elon, to the media bosses, to the shitsuckers running HMOs act like they're running scared is because they *are* running scared.
The veil of invulnerability has been pierced. The long and short of it is that what this guy did in killing the CEO isn't difficult. Now getting away with it? Yeah, he'll be legendary status if he pulls it off over the long term. That being said, shooting someone rich and powerful dead and then immediately being filled in with lead yourself still leaves the rich and powerful guy dead, which may not dissuade some people from trying, and certainly doesn't assuage the fear of the rich and powerful. Whenever you see a paparazzi photo of some rich asshole on a boat doing something embarrassing, mentally swap out him and his camera with some angry dude with a sniper rifle, and you'll get what I mean when I say Pandora's Box has been opened.
Look up the Arab Spring - not because it involved revolution which has happened plenty of times in history but because of the role the internet specifically played in it and most importantly how the internet played a role in it. It was less about "some angry dude" or any one individual but was about collaboration and organization.
